With a Mets win, the Nationals, the prohibitive favorites in the East who are under .500, will be as close to 4th place as they are to first place. So sad.

Michael Wilbon said on "Pardon the Interruption" that deGrom doesn't deserve the award because he doesn't win the game. Guest host Frank Isola talked about deGrom's lack of run support and Wilbon responded that deGrom needs to pitch better so his team wins. He then said that it's not about "stats" but winning. By that logic, just give the Cy Young Award to the pitcher who gets the most wins.

If Frazier leaves it alone, Rosario makes the play and the run doesn't score. If Frazier doesn't throw a lollipop to McNeil, perhaps McNeil doesn't airmail the throw to first (yesterday). Two bad plays by Frazier that do not "show up in the box score".

Frazier possibly could have tagged the runner who was at 2d and he could have thrown it harder to McNeil but all the blame is going to McNeil.

Who said that this was a lost season? The half-hour highlight film, after the 11 and 1 start, will simply be a montage of every player.

They may wait a long time to get this game in (the Mets are in Baltimore tomorrow but we know that it's all about the MFYs who are home so a long delay doesn't hurt them as much) as the only common off-day is September 6 but the Mets are @LAD on the 5th and home on the 7th while the MFYs are @OAK on the 5th and @SEA on the 7th.
