  2. Given that it's September, couldn't they have a fast guy on the bench to pinch run? Or do the Mets not have one/not do that sort of thing? Edit: No need.
  3. Can we stop wasting time with Austin Jackson? We can see why SF and TEX released him and his good field, so-so bat. I don't need to see any more of him, or Meso, or Wilmer. Bruce is edging close to that list, too.
  4. I'm in San Francisco to visit my son and there is no way that I planned my trip for when the Mets are here. We will be at the game, section 105
  5. Great report, Edgy!
  6. For those of us with truck for the sentimental (to paraphrase Norm McDonald), this is wonderful news. He'll be back Soon you'll see David Wright At base number 3 [tweet:5ci2eroo] [/tweet:5ci2eroo] Pete McCarthy said that if David plays this September, they lose the 75% return of his salary from the insurance for September as well as April and May.
  7. And there's another unforced error where the Mets give up an out.
  8. When will you be able to see Peter Alonso? Spring Training 2019! And you'll never guess who the Mets will be playing: oh, you will, lots of Miami, Washington, Houston, and Cardinals but no MFYs. http://mlb.mlb.com/nym/downloads/2019_SpringTrainingSchedule.pdf
  9. deGrom high-fives Frazier and then goes into the locker room to scream.
  10. Seawald is a sack of shit in a Mets uniform. [tweet:2nso27cu] [/tweet:2nso27cu]
  11. "At the time I posted that, the Second Amendment at the time was definitely a hot topic," he said. "The point of it wasn't to offend anybody." He's right, it's not a hot topic today and no one would think that a picture of Hitler might be offense. Good thing this dope can hit a baseball.
  12. This is some awesome research. Worth reading.
  13. All we heard today was that the Mets wanted "to do the right thing" for Jose Bautista. How about doing the "right thing" for possibly your best positional player in history and the minor leaguer who had the best season?
  14. It's a big day for athletes and mattress endorsements: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-08-28/patriots-tom-brady-sleeps-on-a-molecule-mattress-now

If he plays in a major league game, then you probably don't get the insurance money that your bosses desperately need, *and* you have to clear a spot on the 40 for him. But fuckin' hell, this is the *one* thing you can do to sell a ticket to see this godawful team next month. Well put. It's not like the bar at the moment for being a New York Met is that high.

  17. It is done. No word yet on the return. I'm guessing "slot money".
  18. They need to clear space in the OF and a slot on the roster (even though September 1 is near) for Nimmo.
  19. Not gone yet, but it's close: [tweet:1ss5c6lz]https://twitter.com/martinonyc/status/1034151899430301696[/tweet:1ss5c6lz] It's gotta be the July 6 walk-off slam: https://www.mlb.com/gameday/rays-vs-mets/2018/07/06/530729#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=wrap,game=530729

As it stands we're playing for next year, and giving Sewald the chance to pass a gut check was a reasonable test to me. OK, so he flunked. And Basholor didn't help himself either. That's two more data points going into the offseason. Valid point if that was the intent but then they are hypocrites by playing Reyes, Bautista, and now Bruce at 1B.

New Scandinavian Cooking on my PBS station is how they brew Swedish coffee. 60 grams of coffee for each liter of water. They visited Costa Rica and Columbia to show how it is grown and harvested. Later That sound nice. Have you tried "Stay Here" on Netflix?

  25. Crap, something is wrong with McNeil. The Mets need their best hitter!
