  1. =MFS62 post_id=20500 time=1567295728 user_id=60] Alonso should be tearing up this bandbox, and isn't.
  2. Edgy MD wrote: Love the Tug McGraw and Richie Ashburn shaving ads. I do too. I'm sure that a current version of the Schick ad wouldn't have Tug, or the model, hitting each other.
  3. =G-Fafif post_id=20470 time=1567286748 user_id=55] Keith referred to Rhys Hoskins as a crybaby.
  4. Bases loaded, no out, no runs, against a POS pitcher. Tremendous.
  5. You can have 40 players as of 9/1 (for the last time) so I think that the objective would be to add position players and not merely swap them by DFA'ing anybody. I can see how BVW would do this if it was a month ago, as you set forth, but the rules change on Monday and you can add some bodies which is why he has to be clever given the lack of space of the 40-man.
  6. I might have phrased that poorly, and who am I to question an educator, but I meant that he doesn't wear the uniform in any locale. He's in the dugout but numberless.

  8. Make Ike a coach and then you'll have 4! Not to be a dick, I know what you mean and it's a good question, but Chili doesn't wear a uniform--I've never seen him, not in ST, not in the dugout, not in the fawning interview that SNY is showing, in a Mets uniform.
  9. Edgy MD wrote: Kilome likely won't go onto the 60. They've avoided that all year, because it counts as service time. Gsellman is a possibility for a 60-day assignment. Guys eligible to be DFA'd include (Rajai) Davis, Panik, Bashlor (who'd likely get claimed on waivers), Lockett, and Hart. Thanks. The Kilome machination is frustrating. Lockett, Bashlor and Hart will probably get called up on Monday (unless they are there right now, it's hard to keep track). I'm sure that BVW is all over this and trying to do something clever.
  10. Damn. So many chances to get it back.
  11. All of the people who were happy that Lagares was back in the lineup have seen why he wasn't. 2 big AB's, 2 flyouts.
  12. What position players will be added on Monday? Nimmo, Lowrie, Nido will all return from injuries but the Mets don't have any position players on the 40-man who aren't either hurt or already on the team. Kilome could be moved to the 60-day IL but I don't see a lot of new faces arriving soon (and the pitchers they add will be old faces as we've seen them come and go this season). http://m.mlb.com/nym/roster/40-man/http://m.mlb.com/nym/roster/40-man/

  14. The SS reverted back to early season form and the LF showed why he's not a LF. Meanwhile, Noah came up small. At least Ramos extended his streak. Maybe Joel Sherman will stop the "Mickey might win Manager of the Year" crap and BVW can quietly start vetting Gerardi.
  15. WSH gets the Orioles tonight and tomorrow, part of the 4 games they get with the O's every year because of geographic proximity. This is the same reason why the Mets play the MFYs 4X/season... despite the big difference in quality between the teams.
  16. From Friday: the Rosario AB, the Conforto AB. That game was waiting for them. I blame the whole weekend on those uniforms.
  17. This is a fantastic article. Thanks to G-Fafif for the link. Subscribe to The Athletic here: https://theathletic.com/checkout?pc=raf40&plan_id=45&shared_by_name=Jeff&shared_by=133087https://theathletic.com/checkout?pc=raf40&plan_id=45&shared_by_name=Jeff&shared_by=133087
  18. Amed swung at ball four twice. Please SNY, no more fawning over Chili Davis.
  19. Nice job Juan, swinging at ball four.
  20. Edgy MD wrote: Weird that Rosario wasn't running. Weird that the Mets have a manager who is too fucking dumb to think of things like that. Weird that the Mets have ten coaches, including a "quality control" coach, and no one tells the manager. Weird that the Mets have a manager who takes out a pitcher who is doing well for no apparent reason.
  21. It's getting to the end of the line for Todd. Helluva guy but with McNeil back, Nimmo soon, and Lagares not awful, Todd needs to be on the bench.
  22. Edgy MD wrote: It all turned on that sorry-assed bunt attempt. 1. Rosario is a lousy bunter. 2. Rosario had two hits already and was perfectly capable of hitting a grounder to the right side (which might have gone through). 3. McNeil still has a lot to learn. 4. The Mets have 10 coaches yet no one said: "uh Mickey, don't do it".
  23. I know that he's terrible and has been a big disappointment (to put it mildly) but don't boo the guy when he leaves the game after an injury.
  24. Honestly, Rhame could get us what Brach has given us. He hasn't been THAT bad, that would be impossible, but the Mets said that Regan "fixed" Brach in a half-hour, or something like that. Obviously, they didn't but the Mets sometimes act as if they are the only smart ones. I'm sure that the Cubs tried to fix him, too.
  25. Maybe Brodie should have stopped patting himself on the back and made an effort to get Hamilton.
