  3. Chip's Ahoy......his back page when he hits a game winner.
  4. I haven't started an IGT in years.....so here goes. Goatay back playing 2nd base and hitting second? Hernandez in three games started against the Padres had two wins and no losses. Peavy has started seven against the Mets with three wins and one loss.
  5. Houston would probably start with Milledge and end with Maine with players they would want, and some others in between.
  6. What I find interesting about this pic is that Danny looks too old to be a future star,he looks cool though. Did Edgy post a pic of Danny already,I can't see any pic in his last post...
  7. Looks like the Chavez injury is worse than first thought. ] Bad news on Endy injury For the first time, the Mets acknowledged the serious nature of Endy Chavez's hamstring strain. Chavez has been on the DL since June 7 and is not on the verge of returning soon. "I don't think Endy's that close," manager Willie Randolph said. "I'm just going to say that instead of saying he's going to be back in a week or so. I think he must have damaged his hamstring a lot more than originally thought, obviously, because it's been a while. "If it's past six weeks, it's not just a strain or a mild pull. It's more severe than that."
  8. WOW, really terrible, when Doug was traded to NY in June of that year was his missing sister a story at all,not trying to diminish what happened but just curious if the media here talked to him about that.
  9. Chip Ambres sounds like he should be a fighter pilot, what can we expect from Anderson, maybe being back at Shea will get him going.
  10. Sosa - 2.5 Reyes - 1 LoDuca - 1 Wright - 1
  11. I wouldn't make that deal,Heilman has pitched good this week.
  12. I try not to post articles as much but this is just so fucking typical of Klapisch. monitoring Jeter is like monitoring the Klemlin
  13. Glavine - 5 Wagner - 1 Milledge - 2 Wright - 1 Green - 1
  14. Fran Healy was a huge fan of Bell's roller blading, the whole Bell thing has been played out here over the years,I'm happy for him that he's found a place.
  15. Johnny Dickshot wrote: Where 2 IGTs are often a sign of impending disaster, I do believe 3 IGTs is good luck. Not sure, but Lastings Milledge may have gotten us all excited about baseball again. TRADE HIM NOW,HIS VALUE WILL NEVER BE HIGHER SHOULD HAVE TRADED HIM LAST SEASON FOR ZITO...
  16. So are we going with this IGT?
  17. Ahh lads,I was taking the piss and pulling yer legs all at the same time....
  18. Bell,Cameron and.........I'm resisting the temptation to look it up... Shit I must be be dyslexic,I read the question backwards.
  19. ="Nymr83"]] I assumed Jacob K to either be pulling Noble's leg or to be about 7 years old while Marty C meant his dumb question seriously. Pulling his leg? Benjamin Grimm Jul 16 2007 07:16 PM That's American for "taking the piss." Nymr83 Jul 16 2007 07:36 PM i had no idea that expression was not universal in english-speaking countries. Benjamin Grimm Jul 16 2007 07:37 PM We only use Irish idioms around here. metirish Jul 16 2007 07:40 PM Ahh lads,I was taking the piss and pulling yer legs all at the same time.... Nymr83 Jul 16 2007 08:08 PM we've been had!
  20. I dunno,Endy won't even be in the Mets Hall of Fame...I think Jacob K. was taking the piss outta Marty.
  21. Well no,he's not that crap, still he'll be the answer to a trivia question, which I suppose is not a bad thing...
  22. Someone,I think Gary Cohen opined one night that Alou was on a HOF career path except his multiple injuries have stopped it.....who knows what's available in the off season for the outfield,or even in a trade...
  23. Liked that bit form Noble,I imagine those nights spent in the bar with Ralph,Murph and Castellano were fun nights,Ed Charles wrote a poem in tirbute to Ralph. ] One Moment in Time A Tribute to Ralph Kiner By: Ed Charles Life to us is just a moment in time When we sing our songs and write our rhymes When we audition for a role upon life's great stage Then act out the scripts as written on the page But some might resent the way the scripts were written No one prefers the role of a loser snake bitten We would like a role that brings honor and fame Not some little bit part that belittles our name For life to us is just a moment in time Welcome to the big stage without a nickel or dime We dream lofty dreams like others before Then set out to achieve them like the ones we adore But oft-times some of us misread our scripts And meet with failure for our bumbling little slips We replace the original scripts for those of our own Putting our trust and fate in a destiny unknown For life to us is just a moment in time A personal struggle to keep our heads above the slime A daunting task that beclouds our days Until the curtains are drawn upon our plays For the songs that we sing and the rhymes that we write Are but spiritual reflections of our souls in flight Some soar gracefully and some are like wingless birds Grounded and stage frightened for frail are their nerves But you Ralph Kiner are as composed as one can be Nothing could sway you from the goals that you set for thee For you aced your audition with a bat and a glove Then astounded us with spiels about the game that we love You kept us in touch with the Glory Days of yore When character not steroids were the hallmark of a pro When egos were kept in check by codes of conduct And ostracism befell those who dared act up So today we pause to celebrate your climb From the boondocks to Shea to this moment in time And to say with affection how grateful we are That you chose baseball and big Shea to fashion your star For you are an original, a beloved New York Met A Pirate and a Hall of Famer, as good as they get For your moment in time is a mighty fine show And today the Mets family wanted to tell you so For now you are a legend like Mays and DiMaggio And all honors upon you today we admiringly and proudly bestow
  24. Glengarry Glen Ross is a superior movie to a dozen or more movies on the list.
  25. Damn but that must blow being the pitcher who's name will always be linked to that loss, lucky for Eaton he'll be forgotten when he retires.
