Very cool and welcome, thanks for the link Batty,I must pick up that book.

Damn, cops had to use a stun gun on him.

Cooby, where have you been?,Willie had houlder surgery over the All-Start break.

Eddie C. helped him out, about like how you'd help out a retarded six-year old trying to put a sentence together. Yes, I understand, Yancy: this information is tedious for you to keep reading. I have to laugh,I'm in the garage doing stuff and I heard the interview.I'm not even sure Omar picked up on Coleman correcting him.

iramets wrote: I thought you never listened to what the Mets say. Omar was his usual verbose self, saying many words, few of which made actual, you know, sentences, but essentially it can all be boiled down to "It is what is, and que sera, sera," which we coulda told him. He may be a decent GM (and he may also not be) but he is one piss-poor interview. Omar is a brutal interview,he can't even put two sentences together.Last night though he seemed especially poor, maybe the flight got to him.

Just crazy how a game can change...

DocTee wrote: Something like half of all Dodger IP since the AS Break have been thrown by their bullpen-- this is looking good. Gary just mentioned 35 by the starters and 31 for the pen.

Ollie has been great, striking out guys looking all night....

Perez gets picked of trying to steal second,to end the inning no less.

Anderson played a lot of second.

I'm here........why the late start?

Nice to see someone is paying attention to what I post

I've never heard Scully do a complete game, would love to though. In fact I've only ever heard him on highlights.

Yeah I read that which prompted my question, was surprised to learn he's in the DR.

So the ten day shutdown period for Pedro has long passed, any word on what's going on here with him?

Ventura hit two 2 run home runs that game! edit - that should be two home runs...

iramets wrote: I just posted Ambler's infamous suggestion to "pinch-hit for Ventura" from '01 in the MOFO archives. OK that's funny, can be a bit confusing to read, did ambler suggest that Ventura be PH for and then Robin hit a two run shot?

Thanks Vic for taking to time to answer ,I'm viewing movies in a different way of course, for entertainment and not looking at what impact a Bladerunner would have on the movie making industry and I suppose the likes of Pixar today.

Vic Sage wrote: what? No "Fargo." yes, no "Fargo". Actually, "Fargo" was one of the movies i was specifically thinking of in my earlier post, when i was discussing movies that were "flavors of the month" and were too new to judge critically, and so didn't belong on the list. Its no surprise to me at all that, upon later reflection, the judges reconsidered that one. As they may well do with "forrest gump", "shawshank redemption" and "titanic" amongst others, at some point down the road. Which is why i think any movies within that last 20 years should just be disqualified from consideration, until they've stood the test of time. Can you explain that further ,why would a judge/critic or whoever it is that helps compile such lists think that a movie they thought was "classic" in 1995 upon further review didn't think of it as classic say in 2007. What would be so different about the movie 10 or 20 years later that would make that person think differently about it. You mentioned Fargo,I watched it a few years ago and thought it was annoying, thought it was great when it first came out.

I should add that I think Omar needs to add a right handed bat .

As a forum what are we not seeing with Gotay that Ron,Gary and Keith are?,I like Gotay but these guys rave about him, saying things like"be tough for Willie to sit him now","no idea how he can sit him".That was an exchange Ron and Gary had last night(something like that). When I say as a forum I should say I don't see that unbridled enthusiasm for Gotay that the booth guys have.

I didn't finish any of the games in SD and last night left at 9 to 5.

I think Omar will trade for a bat, perhaps Sosa. Of course last season the trades for El Duque and Green came after the deadline.....

It's like totally amazing that you stole it from another board and that board stole it from another board who stole it from Gammo..... Seriously though, wouldn't Boras know that he would potentially be causing injury to his client and in the long run as the piece says "alters the player's ability" hampering Boras ability to negotiate contracts for his client.
