I'm in, this board wouldn't be the same without it.

Congrats, any clues as to who your future avatar will be?

And what about Oakland?

Interesting indeed, turns out the Oakland coaching staff are not getting paid for the trip... ] "I had to go back and tell the coaches not to spend the money some of them had already spent," Francona said.

I know the answer to this, as long as it can't be called Shitty Field Val will be happy.

I wonder if it will be called Citi Field by then.

Expected puff piece on Duncan being old school comes courtesy of Tyler Kepner in The Times. I can't link it on this device.

I would add that Duncan is a player with very little in the way of tools and will do this type of crap to make himself popular in the locker room. Apparently his team mates love him especially Rodriguez, I imagine he' a the type that would chase a pen light around the room to amuse people.

Crystal is a Wankers cramp.

I watched the replay tonight on SNY. Ralph sounded in great form, Keith thinks that pitchers will keep pounding Delgado inside until he proves he can hit that pitch again , thinks thats where the problem is.

Cool thread title Nymr83. What about the Tampa Rays?

A good day , players are starting to comeback.

His answer to the first question probably shows the kind of person he is I would think . Great read.

Kevin Burkhardt is doing the Channel 11 game with Keith, I thought Pelfrey looked good before he got rocked hard, Scott Schoenweiss came on with the bases loaded and gave up a long double to CF that clered the bases, Chavez was playing shallow.

Blog from David Lennon. ] GM Omar Minaya held a news conference in the dugout minutes ago to address the Moises Alou situation as well as the rash of injuries. He also was asked specifically about signing either Sammy Sosa or Barry Bonds. Minaya paused for a second before answering. "It's fair to say we'll go with someone internal right now," Minaya said, smiling.

Take a crap in a corner of yankee stadium if your upset with the grad being held there , they could use the great hall at Ellis Island .

I really need to get that new telly.

Anything less will be good news .

I enjoy a few smokes a day, down to two or three for the past year but I've no problem with the ban, like soup though I would never light up around people at a game, or anywhere for that matter.

I really like this, but will it be enforced. ] FLUSHING -- The New York Mets today announced that Shea Stadium will become smoke-free during the Mets' final season in their longtime home. The 2008 smoking prohibition will encompass all areas within Shea, including the ramps. The Mets will continue to provide fans a smoke-free environment when they move into Citi Field, their new world class home, in 2009. Shea's seating bowl became smoke-free in 1995 following the City Council's enactment of the Smoke-Free Air Act. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg signed the Smoke-Free Air Act of 2002 amending the 1995 act to ensure that public spaces including bars, nightclubs, and restaurants and all places of employment in New York City are smoke-free. The new policy for Shea and Citi Field will eliminate second-hand smoke for fans and all workers throughout both buildings. Second-hand smoke is a known health hazard and irritant for nearby non-smokers. Smoke coming from outdoor areas can drift into enclosed areas and is virtually impossible to eliminate if windows or doorways are open. The United States Environmental Protection has classified second-hand smoke as a Group A carcinogen, a group which also includes hazardous materials such as asbestos. To accommodate fans who wish to smoke at Mets home games at Shea Stadium, the team has designated an area outside the stadium reserved for smokers. This outdoor area is accessible through the exterior of Gate C and will be the only area in which smoking is permitted.

He jogs like he has a hot poker up his arse.

Would you do Sosa to the Tigers for Thames?

He's got no range.

Centerfield wrote: Yutz Never heard of him , I'd like Nady out there.

As pointed out today by Adam Rubin the outfield looks light without Alou and that Chavez, Anderson and Pagan will be taking turns out there, unless Minaya trades for a bat, Nady is one bat he mentioned that might be available, some other names are Matt Murton, Scott Hairtson , Emil Brown and Nelson Cruz.
