Peter King SI_PeterKing What a great moment in Comerica:Jim Joyce apologizes to Galarraga, Galarraga accepts, they hug. Class by Joyce, incredible class by the kid. Is this true?, if so then great. It doesn't help when every freaking baseball reporter is tweeting how this will define Joyce. Gallaraga is class for saying what he said.

As Ron remarked during the replay, that was a good throw by Bay, didn't try to do too much, how many times do we see the guy try and throw to the plate there?

I find it really helps if you read that in Howie's voice. .....

Agreed , Boras needs to be part of the solution on this.

Braves in first place , beat Phillies 9-3 today....I guess it surprises me that they are in first , they looked so awful when playing the Mets.

Have fun, expecting a full fman scouting report...............on the skirt at the game.

Those three games had followed a shutout against St. Louis. That 1969 stretch was the only time (at least, hopefully, until tonight) that the Mets had won four consecutive shutouts. I may be wrong(shocker) but I don't remember Gary/SNY giving us the St.Louis bit during the game last night , and they talked a lot about the shutouts. Either way , good stuff Grim.

Love the sketch....the Beltran watch is great interesting The Brewers are 6-15 at their home, Miller Park, which will make them a compelling match for the Mets - who are 6-14 on the road. Newsday

Joe Girardi is a bollox , but you all knew that anyway MINNEAPOLIS - Eight days after Joe Girardi protested what he believed to be an illegal pitching change by the Red Sox, he found himself the target of another manager's criticism. Following Wednesday night's 3-2 Yankees win, Twins skipper Ron Gardenhire expressed his displeasure with Girardi, who sent Andy Pettitte to the mound for the ninth inning, then walked to the mound to bring in Mariano Rivera before Pettitte threw a pitch. "You don't normally get that long in between innings to do all of that," Gardenhire said. "But that's a situation Major League Baseball needs to take care of. If your bullpen isn't ready and the starter goes out there, he should have to face a batter. That's just the way it should be." Girardi defended his move, saying he was playing "within the rules. "I have that option to send the starter out there to get my closer ready," said Girardi, who wasn't going to bring Rivera in until Nick Swisher gave the Yankees a lead with his two-out homer in the ninth. Great shot of Santana and Takahashi showing each other baseball grips.

At least the rain delay viewing is excellent....love these Mets yearbooks. Camera shows plane descending in to LaGuardia....cue Murph to tell us that the Mets came back to earth too ..and my fave..." and Mets fans can look forward to having [u:3cuzoqpq]insert name here[/u:3cuzoqpq] for a full season".
