  1. David Fincher movie , critics seem to love it , I found it a bore-fest , Michael Fassbender plays an assassin, it's actually boring work , when things go south he becomes the prey and must break his own rules and go on the offense. Soundtracked by The Smiths music , probably the best thing about it I'm disappointed as I was looking forward to this, I think it's the kind of movie you'll either love or hate Edit to add, there is a really great fight scene
  2. Yeah man , I agree , I kind of wish they delved more into the science behind it all too .
  3. I would need to re-watch but I remember liking it
  4. I must watch this, I've seen it floating around
  5. Poll up , I went four out of five
  6. You know what , you are correct and Regel New Roc is confusing as they list this movie in IMAX 70mm , but it's not ,I believe I saw it in IMAX 2D or straight 70mm film on a IMAX screen ...either way it was worth it.
  7. We just left IMAX , wow , an amazing achievement, brilliantly acted, amazing score ,the tension built and built , three hours flew by. If you are going to see it then try for IMAX 70mm
  8. Currently streaming on Paramount+ I've rewatched this over the weekend, two terrific performances by Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson. Two lighthouse keepers try to keep their sanity while on a remote lighthouse https://a24films.com/films/the-lighthousehttps://a24films.com/films/the-lighthouse
  9. I thought the scenes with Art Howe lit up the room
  10. Happened upon it last night and watched it again, I do enjoy it, although very little mention of the great starting pitching they had , of course this is something many people note about it.
  11. Ron got honored at Harford Yard Goats game today as "Hero of the day" for his military service Congratulations Ron, and thank you for your service
  12. The link didn't work for me , but congratulations Ron
  13. Synopsis Leonard (Guy Pearce) is tracking down the man who raped and murdered his wife. The difficulty, however, of locating his wife's killer is compounded by the fact that he suffers from a rare, untreatable form of memory loss. Although he can recall details of life before his accident, Leonard cannot remember what happened fifteen minutes ago, where he's going, or why I love Christopher Nolan movies, this is widely considered one of this best , based on a short by his brother Jonathan Nolan. Watched it last night, I think I've seen bits and pieces of it before Currently streaming on HBO Max

  15. Frayed Knot wrote: I certainly have trouble believing that the line from Jordan's mom, 'the NBA isn't going to be promoting my son, it's going to be the otherway around', actually occurred. Right?

    Air

Air is now streaming on Prime , it tells the story of a mid 80s plucky Nike and how they wooed Michael Jordan away from Adidas and Converse, everyone knew Jordan was going with Adidas... Anyway interesting movie, is it all true ? Probably now
  17. As a youngster in Ireland I thought wow , NYC is amazing
  18. At the insistence of my son we watched this today, have to say the performances were excellent and the music at times brilliant. A lot to take in
  19. What did I just watch? I thought this movie was pure tripe.
  20. Oh , I don't , German with subtitles, I believe way back when I had to enable "original" language as Netflix uses dubbing. In Ireland many people would speak Gaelic and English, having said that most of us are not fluent in Gaelic. I would think depending on where in Europe you are you *might speak more than one language, but it's hardly the norm.
  21. Yes , I should have phrased it as a German adaptation of the book and not a remake, with German actors etc. The original movie ( 1930) was banned in Germany, and some other countries
  22. A remake of the classic, but told from the German side , my son and I really liked it , beautifully shot , best to watch in German
  23. Fair enough, sounds like a good way to see movies that perhaps you wouldn't usually watch
  24. I'll actually surprised by your movie watching choices, certainly don't want to assume you are watching these under duress
  25. I enjoyed it for what it was , although Neeson is just going through the motions, some of his action/thriller movies can become hard to distinguish 3 out of 5 for me , watchable, not memorable
