  1. Blocked at work....I imagine these guys don't like doing these chats.

  4. Ding Dong Bondy takes this opportunity to--of course--fellate Jeter: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2011/05/16/2011-05-16_jeter_the_right_man_to_lead_team_out_of_this_sorry_state.html OMFG What the Yanks need to do, very clearly, is to shut up and let Derek Jeter handle all public relations and disciplinary matters. Jeter may not be the same hitter - his average has dropped again to .260 - yet he is the same master of deflection. Once more Sunday, Jeter was the voice of reason in a wilderness of sheer stupidity. 5. A great player indeed , one that I think has never been fully embraced in NY and a lot of that probably stems from that business where Julio Franco was seen to forcibly make him take a curtain call. IIRC that was early in the memorable 2006 campaign and the fans were booing him with vigor that series.....against the Nats right? Several things it seems have conspired against him , the notion that he would have taken less to play for the Yankees tops that list in some fans minds, the Franco business , his quite personality hasn't endeared him either......it's all nonsense as he has had some of the best seasons ever by a Mets player but there you go.
  6. Gee , it doesn't sound like fun at all for Junior , or for Dad. What do you tell him to keep him going, obviously not everyone makes the team but where's the fun at?
  7. So many things to like here , Posada is a jerk...FU jerk.......the team as a whole is just plain terrible right now and have been for a while. Great too that the talking heads the last few nights on national games brought up all the other players hitting woes when talking about Posada. Cashman doesn't seem to handle these situations all that well does he?
  8. According to Collins Oberkfell argued very hard for Turner to be the starting 2nd baseman from the get go......
  9. Never heard of him......

  11. Brain Wilson? I have a feeling this is a trick question and we will be astounded by the answer....
  12. Gallardo ? sorry , didn't realize this was a quiz...
  13. Chapman for the Reds? saw something the other day about him being clocked in a recent game at 103 and the like.....not at home either.
  14. Klapisch is making a holy show of himself on twitter BobKlap Posada in total no-win situation - salary, reputation, playing time - all at stake. Not even Jeter can back him on this. Um yeah , Jeter is well known for sticking up for his team mates.
  15. How about the Indians? , Hafner hits a two out two run homer of the Seattle closer to win the game 5-4. Indians are 24 and 13....did anyone see that coming?
  16. four out save shot for Rodriguez , I like it.
  17. fun game , has Keith missed anything tonight?

  19. TransMonk wrote: Thole back up in the two-hole. I wonder what that's all about. I'm sure it's nothing to do with numbers and more likely Collins has a gut feeling about it.

Either way I've decided this countdown to 55 should be looked at as something fun not soemthing to dread. This , and I think that's is how this thread is going, if he keeps going the way he's going he could be an All Star selection. Jeffrey won't be chuffed about that.
  21. What a brave man.
  22. Ceetar wrote: Beltran's gonna get booed. it's got to be the most redundant booing going on at the moment. Gary will be incredulous about the booing.
  23. Sounds like Kelly might know him right?, Stevie?
  24. Per various tweets Earlier today, Kate Kelly issued the following report on air for CNBC: Stevie Cohen has offered to buy a 49 percent stake for about $200 million dollars, which is the cash that the Wilpons and Katz were hoping to raise. But, he does want some board seats in the Mets organization and he wants some significant say over how they do what they do. However, voting control within MLB would remain with the Wilpons, which is something that they have been insistent upon all along, as well as not wanting to sell a majority stake, which gives you sort of the 49 percent number. So, Im told that talks are at a little bit of a stalemate right now. Cohen is demanding sort of stiffer terms than the organization was originally prepared to offer, but they are not dead. They are still happening and the goal is to get this thing done ASAP.
