  16. Great summary LF, sorry FK......my profile says I showed up in 2004 but I think I may have been a year or so earlier in a different version of this board....I never got to see the Mets Online board.....looking at that thread I remember Willets old toaster avatar.... What's a man to do? Educate them all at once? Bait and switch on them? Confuse them with sarcasm? Flame them back to deadball era? I'm at a loss. My only alternative is working harder at my real job. Edgy could have wrote that yesterday according to the old board I joined 07/27/02.......I remember sporting an Irish flag avatar and sig and getting polite requests to remove it.
  17. Was surprised to see Josh Willingham as a Type A but then looked up his numbers and was even more surprised to see what he did in Oakland. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/w/willijo03.shtml
  18. NEW YORK (AP) - CC Sabathia is staying with the New York Yankees, agreeing Monday to a new deal that adds $30 million to his existing contract. Sabathia had until midnight to opt out of his current agreement, which had $92 million remaining over the next four years in $23 million annual salaries. The new deal adds a $25 million salary for 2016 and gives the Yankees a $25 million option for 2017 with a $5 million buyout, a person familiar with the agreement told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Yankees had not yet announced the deal.
  19. The math here is a bit fuzzy.....he had four years left on his seven year $160 contract.....more info The extension is being reported by ESPN's Buster Olney as being for $25 million in one year, 2016, on top of the final four years of his current contract. The new deal also includes a $25 million vesting option in 2017 and a $5 million buyout for that season. In total, the deal he will be paid $122 million guaranteed over the next five years, with the possibility of that number stretching to $147 million over six.
