  2. This is wild , more to it ? By Andy McCullough, Fabian Ardaya, Sam Blum and Britt Ghiroli The Los Angeles Dodgers have fired Ippei Mizuhara, the interpreter for Shohei Ohtani, after Ohtani’s representatives accused Mizuhara of engaging in a “massive theft,” using the player’s money to place bets with an allegedly illegal bookmaker under federal investigation. “In the course of responding to recent media inquiries, we discovered that Shohei has been the victim of a massive theft, and we are turning the matter over to the authorities,” Berk Brettler LLP, the firm representing Ohtani, said in a statement. The accusation by Berk Brettler followed an inquiry from The Los Angeles Times. The newspaper learned Ohtani’s name surfaced in an investigation of an Orange County resident named Matthew Bowyer. Mizuhara, 39, placed bets with Bowyer, according to the newspaper. https://theathletic.com/5357619/2024/03/20/shohei-ohtani-translator-theft-gambling?source=user-shared-article
  3. Agree with the above, but, I can't say I enjoyed it just from an entertainment point of view
  4. Currently streaming on Hulu I watched it, but, wow , the kind of movie Oscar types seem to love Having watched this I really feel Lily Gladstone was robbed
  5. I just rewatched this morning , certainly still great on second watch , and the acting excellent, deserving of the various gongs it got at the Oscars
  6. I just watch it, been many years , I do remember really liking it, course as a 15 year old I probably liked all American movies of this genre
  7. It was very well done , beautifully acted with great performances. I thought the ending was perfect
  8. Makes sense, Sandy was probably losing his arse on this venture
  9. Stacy Wakefield, wife of Tim passed away , cancer , how awful
  10. https://www.westhollywoodhistory.org/galleries/wild-west-hollywoods-tropicana-motel/ Some good history here
  11. Amazing information, thanks , I wonder what Sandy thought of it all
  12. [TWEET] [/TWEET] This blows my mind , apparently Jim Morrison was a long time resident too
  13. Cyndi's singing like she does I think was amazing
  14. [TWEET] [/TWEET] I have absolutely no issues with what Stearns is saying here , predictably Mets Twitter is in meltdown mode
  15. I would agree with that, it's the kind of movie critics seem to love though, but I do love Giamatti in most anything, the kid for his first movie was amazing
  16. No one has watched this great movie?
  17. Shiela E probably rightly sounded bitter , yes, the Geldof part was good stuff, I really liked Stevie Wonder working with Dylan , you could see the gratitude from Dylan in that bit. I never really thought about the invitations being a closed shop, but that is interesting
  18. The second quarter dragged a little ,but once they got the artists into the studio it really got going. The Bob Dylan bit was really good, Waylon Jennings " good Ole county boy" bit was something I didn't know. Overall I thought it was a good look back at something that was a one-off.
  19. Just finished this , enjoyed it. Lionel Richie was great at telling the stories.
  20. Just watched it, up early, I certainly liked it , didn't particularly love it , great performances though
  21. Two I saw recently that were excellent and thought provoking Aftersun - Paramount Plus, Showtime Past Lives - Paramount Plus,Showtime
  22. [TWEET] [/TWEET] Jimy looks like baseball, RIP
  23. I haven't seen this, but is the controversy around the lack of big Oscar noms warranted?
  24. Watched this Saturday night, brilliantly acted , I enjoyed it, satisfying ending
  25. Very good reading, should be very interesting, if Pete starts hot or cold , and indeed if the team going great or not into the summer
