  1. From the Times..]Manager Willie Randolph said that reliever Danny Graves would rejoin the team Monday in Atlanta and that infielder Anderson Hernandez and another outfielder would be promoted from Class AAA Norfolk after Norfolk's postseason.[/code]
  2. Graves will rejoin the Mets Monday in Atlanta Willie said.
  3. Seo - 5 Matsui - 3 Floyd - 1 Beltran - 1
  4. Here is Willie's thinking when he brought in Takatsu to face Cabrera , the numbers that made him role the dice.. Roberto Hernandez (7-for-12, three HRs), Heath Bell (3-for-5) or Aaron Heilman (5-for-15) , this form Willie. ]"I felt like giving him a little twist," Randolph said. "A guy with a little funk might be able to get him off guard." I guees he rolled the dice and got beat, tough to see the new guy in that spot, I wanted Hernandez, even knowing the numbers now I would still want Bert, you should lose with your best I think. Some interesting quotes in this article form players.. http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/ny-spmets0904,0,3935782.story?coll=ny-sports-headlines

  8. A is for AstacioTorn labrum had heStill had a one hitterBut could not save Bobby V.
  9. Thanks Bret, what would we do without you?
  10. That was a great read, I didn't know Leiter stopped talking to him after the Kazmir thing, Al will need to be a bit more thick skined if he goes in the politics.
  11. Fran can stop plugging those "Pennant Race Pack" tickets, this was a tough series.
  12. Will the kid 2nd baseman get called up?
  13. Some classic Gay-Rod, now this fella is a character.
  14. ]Have the Wilpons asked him not to throw inside? Is Pedro's having to bat changing that approach? Now you know that's not true, why would they do that?, Pedro doesn't throw 98 anymore so maybe that's why he doesn't pitch inside like he used too,he's more of a control pitcher these days.I don't think the change to the NL has made him rethink things, I really doubt Pedro is afraid to hit guys, when he needed to hit Luis Gonzalez he did.some classic Bobby..
  15. From the Daily News..]SEATTLE - The Yanks did not make any trades before yesterday's playoff eligibility deadline, but they did inquire earlier this week about Steve Trachsel. The Bombers were offering Felix Rodriguez in exchange for the Mets righthander, but were quickly rebuffed.Cashman has some balls.
  16. ]Among the points LaGreca makes is that there is no singlular "moment" in Piazza's career where he was the reason for winning a championship Well that is just a dumb thing to say, Piazza has never won a WS so I don't know what he is talking about,I will only speak for myself here, Piazza is the main reason I am a Mets fan, that and the fact I live in Woodside so going to Shea was easy, he helped put the club back on the map , Piazza will always be my favorite Mets player, plenty of great athletes in all sports didn't win it all, if I were you I'd not bother tuning into Kay or the other fella.
  17. Bobby Valentine should be on this list, wouldn't that be a great dinner table, Bobby V,Billy Martin,Leo Durocher, Reggie Jackson and lets throw in Lenny Dykstra and Gary Carter, now that would be fun.
  18. Beltran has been a bust if you want to go the bang for the buck route,Finley is old and it seems to have caught up with him, Boone,Thome and Lowell certainly should be considered busts.
  19. This is really lame by XM,Eddie Trunk does a good show, SNR has survived a few stations and will survive this.
  20. Cruz is hardly the impact type bat the Nats need but still he'll be a big upgrade over Cristian Guzman who has been a bust.
  21. Excellent find Bart and great feature from the weather channel, could be a wet one for tonights game.http://www.weather.com/outlook/events/mlb/gameforecast/11368?eventid=149247&epc=be
  22. Take that Fernando Ferrer you MFY lover...had a laugh reading this.]August 31, 2005 -- The mayor's race turned into a subway-series slugfest between Bronx Yankee fan Fernando Ferrer and Queens Met booster Anthony Weiner yesterday. Weiner claimed the Mets are the "clean team," while the Yankees are tainted because slugger Jason Giambi was on "the juice." "The Mets are an offensive team the old-fashioned, natural way we think," quipped Weiner, the Brooklyn-Queens congressman. Ferrer shot back that Weiner can't be sure all Met players are pure. "Have you checked the cups?" Ferrer said, referring to urine samples. The Bronx debate started innocently enough before a housing event attended by the Democratic candidates, when The Post asked Ferrer - a diehard Yankee fan about Giambi's and the Bombers' surge. But then Weiner suddenly elbowed his way into the conversation, igniting a mini-debate. Weiner needled Ferrer about Giambi's alleged steroid use. Ferrer said Giambi admitted to the transgression (according to reports of Giambi's testimony before a grand jury). Weiner disagreed and Ferrer asked, "He never admitted it in front of the grand jury?" Weiner shot back, "[Giambi] never came clean. He never has." Meanwhile, Ferrer and Weiner joined housing advocates in touring "slumlord" apartments in The Bronx. They were joined later in Harlem by Democratic rivals C. Virginia Fields and Gifford Miller to inspect a run-down apartment complex at 305 W. 150th St. The building owned by Hoshia Realty had gaping holes and broken or missing light fixtures and construction debris left strewn inside. One of the Bronx buildings 2654 Valentine Ave. owned by Moshe Piller had exposed pipes, peeling paint, broken mail boxes and vermin.
  23. Not for nothing Jon but the weather forecast was not the best yesterday, it did turn out fine though, tonight might be another story, plus the US Open is on.
  24. Yeah I hope he's available to at least PH, I'd hate to think that that's it for him as a Met.
  25. To be fair to Mex the first replays didn't give a good view of the play, and IIRC he called it and then MSG showed the replay that proved him correct.
