  1. Chadford roughed up for 4 runs in the 7th. 7-1 Pirates, 2 outs top 7. Feliciano in.
  2. Floyd doing the anti-Milledge impression to end the top of the 6th with a nice sliding catch.
  3. Again in the 5th, first and second no outs. K for Beltran, pop foul by Delgado, 6-4 for Wright. 0-8 with RISP tonight.
  4. Oliver finishes the 5th with a K of Casey. Top of the order for the Amazins coming up down by 2.
  5. Maine completely loses it after 90 pitches. Walk, single, walk, walk. Tie game.
  6. Mets have first and second no outs in the bottom of 4. Unable to convert as Valentin grounds into the 6 4 3 and Maine chops out. 1-0 Good guys to the 5th.
  7. I'm here all alone in the bottom of the 4th...thought I'd start a thread to amuse myself. 1-0 Mets...Maine 6 Ks and only 1 hit against through 4 IP.
  8. And they trot him back out there...if this were the NL, Randy would have been done after 4.
  9. Unit falls apart as Mets bat around in the 4th. 7-2 Mets
  10. NY Mets J. Reyes ss P. Lo Duca dh C. Beltran cf D. Wright 3b J. Franco 1b X. Nady rf C. Woodward 2b R. Castro c E. Marrero lf NY Yankees J. Damon cf D. Jeter ss J. Giambi dh A. Rodriguez 3b J. Posada c A. Phillips 1b M. Cabrera lf B. Crosby rf M. Cairo 2b Woodward and Marrero make the lineup even weaker than last night. No Delgado, no (edit)Floyd. Trachsel and Unit have the same winning percentage and virtually the same ERA.
  11. Milledge on being sent down per Daily news: "I wanted to play," Milledge said while sitting next to GM Omar Minaya in the visitors dugout. "But if this is what I've got to do to get better, to win championships, to do all I can do, then I've got to take it." YEA!!!! All I wanted to hear...my Milledge stock just rose a little bit.
  12. Already on page 2 before the game starts...good sign, I like it.
  13. Not in terms of playoff eligibility, but they should still be fighting for the division.
  14. The poor Twinkies. I feel bad for them...winning 17 of 19 games and not gaining ground on either team they're chasing...what a mess. The Sox and Tigers are awesome and for real. My dad has been a huge White Sox fan for years. For his birthday this year I got him tickets to Comisky for a September game against the Tigers...should be really exciting.

  16. Edgy DC wrote: Good point, Monk. Don't think I didn't also notice your controversial usage of an in "an historic." You're right, before a pronounced "h" I should have used the article "a". Thanks for the reminder.
  17. Point made.
  18. Yancy Street Gang wrote: I'm confident that the Mets will get to the playoffs. I'm not that confident that the Mets will go deep into the playoffs, but that's a worry for October. If you have a 12 game lead in the division in June but do not feel you can go deep in the playoffs then that possibility needs to be addressed now. It would be different if we didn't break away until August 15th, but now is the time to try and shore up any weaknesses. Not many teams have this much of an advantage so early that they know barring major injury or an historic collapse they have great odds to make the postseason.
  19. Glad to see Z's heard the story of Mr. Faded Glory. Backatcha.
  20. What? No video montage for ex-Red Sock Darren Oliver?
  21. How many zeros is that?
  22. Just need to get this off my chest...no panic, but worried. 1. We are now 5-8 vs. other division/wildcard leaders...and we don't even have to play the best 2 teams in Chicago and Detroit. Winning 100 games won't matter if we can't hang with the big boys. 2. Pedro has looked very beatable over the past few starts. How hurt is he? The SP as is will not be able to pick up the slack. 3. Milledge. His gaffes were "cute" when we were winning...but not when we lose. He has shown me no signs of being anything more than average in his month of regular playing time in the bigs...he has a lot of potential, but not necessarily "untouchable" to me anymore. OK...I feel better now.
  23. The post was in jest...mostly. I don't care about Zito. But Milledge has done very little to impress me.
  24. Beckett is dealing. Milledge now has more K's than hits for the year.
  25. Trade Milledge NOW!!! Zito looks better everyday.
