  1. He passes the test. He's pitched decently. Nothing that will keep him in the rotation, but still some good stuff.
  2. .392 at Norfolk. More importantly to me, that was just his 5th walk in 25 games at the ML level where his OBP is well below .300. I would love to see our starting rightfielder continue to be patient and get on base more.
  3. Holy crap! Milledge drew a walk.
  4. Beltran stays hot and goes KABOOM! 4-1 Mets in the 3rd.
  5. I don't disagree with anything Hutton has said.
  6. Hmmm...Nady would have had that. Lastings, you kill me.
  7. Of the approx. 5000 fans in Florida tonight, sounds like the majority are Mets fans.
  8. I'm crabby. That being said I don't think a serious move was available to be made...especially after Sanchez went down. I certainly don't think we are any better today than we were yesterday. And even though we were good enough to beat anyone in the NL and most teams in the AL...I still don't think this team can beat Boston or Detroit in a 7 game series. Even the MFY would be a pretty interesting series.
  9. To metsblog's credit...he knew about Sanchez this morning, so he has been working his butt off all day.
  10. CBS says Maddux to Dodgers for Izturis...no details yet.
  11. Heilman ain't going nowhere now.
  12. Tigers get Pirates' 1B Casey for minor-leaguer
  13. BoSox lose the Sunday night game. With the loss, their record falls a half a game below the Mets. The Mets now have the second best record in all of baseball behind the Tigers. Not that it matters in terms of seeding for the playoffs, but I'd still like the Mets to at least have the second best record in baseball this year. Having 3 teams in the AL with better records than the NL leading Mets would just make for a horrible media subplot for our boys should they make the playoffs this year.
  14. I went back and looked at pics from each game. Like I said...I was bored...and I'm a nerd. Hard part's over, it's easy to keep track of now.
  15. O Hernandez 6 Beltran 2 Chavez 1 LoDuca 1
  16. Thought I'd whip this up as I was bored and I'm a nerd. The Mets have used 7 different uniform combinations this season, 5 at home and 2 on the road. There does not seem to be any ryhme or reason as to which uniform is worn on any given day. Day games, night games, different days of the week, different starting pitchers...it seems to be purely a grab bag. Records are through 7/29 vs. the Braves: Home unis: The majority favorite of the forum seems to be the traditional pin stipes with blue caps. Those unis have been worn 9 times this year: 4-5, .444 Pin striped jerseys with the two tone blue and black cap have been worn 4 times: 3-1, .750 The all white snowball/softball jerseys have been worn with the blue cap 13: 8-5, .615 The snowballs with the two tone cap have also made 13 appearances: 5-8, .385 The black home jerseys with the black caps have been worn 12 times: 9-3, .750 Road unis: The all black road combo has been worn 11 times and has come in with the worst record: 3-8, .273 The most worn uni is the road grey with the two tone cap. It's been worn 41 times: 29-12, .707 Does anyone know what determines the combo of uniform worn on any particular day? I would say more black at home and less on the road.
  17. No problem, figured that was the case.
  18. One of the Braves announcers said Reyes last night after the other one said Wright.
  19. Gosh, Endy sure is clutch. Ducky helping himself out.
  20. Over/under on IP for Ducky today is 3.2...place your bets.
  21. At least Reyes seems to be getting closer to where he was before the injury with the bat.
  22. I'm with Elster...Wright's numbers may look more well rounded, but no one has helped this team in so many ways so far than Beltran.
