  4. Sweet...Mets win by doubling up the Bucs again. Win #299 for Glavine...I was thinking about skipping the games in the series at Milwaukee this year, but I'll be in the stands at Miller Park on Tuesday as Glavine goes for 300.

  6. Nice team effort tonight. It's nice to see offensive contributions from everyone.

  8. Hojo must be doing something right. Way to go, Maine.
  9. I've been gone for a few weeks and the Mets have not been on my list of things to keep track of, so let me get this straight: Hojo is our hitting coach...Rickey is our first base coach...Willie is wearing an arm sling...Franco is once again a Brave...Delgado, Wright and Gotay have been hot...Maine and Loduca not so much...Alou's still hurt...Pedro's been throwing but has no official timetable...we are carrying four second basemen and three catchers...the forum is faster and more blue. Anything else of importance I need to know about?
  10. Well, that sucked.

  13. June's over and could have been much worse considering the Mets dropped 14 of their first 18 games before battling back to win 8 of 9 to finish 12-15 for the month. They started the month with a 4.5 game lead on the Braves and ended up only losing a half a game in the standings and maintaining a five game lead in the loss column. At any rate, I'm glad to see the calendar page flip.
  14. Schoeneweis warms up! Why is Aaron Sele on this team?
  15. Beltran tells Howard anything you can do I can do better. KABOOM! 5-3 Mets.
  16. I asked her...swears she wrote the father's name down somewhere. But her trip was in late April and we've moved since then, so I'm not quite sure she'd be able to find it. She didn't seem too confident when I suggested it could be Alan or Red. But if she finds it, I'll let you know.

  18. My wife recently went on a trip to Mississippi to do some Katrina relief work. One night during her week stay, her group decided to take a bus ride into New Orleans with some of the other organizations that were volunteering there. She ended up sitting next to some guy who's son was a minor league pitcher in the Mets' organization. She immediately called me on her cell phone to tell me the news. Of course, I asked who his son was and she said, "Tim Worthington." I said, hmmm...never heard of him. She went on to tell me that he was in extended bring training recovering from an injury. I told my wife to tell Tim's dad that I hoped to be rooting hard for him with the big club in the future. I never found out what his injury was, but had always thought of adopting him.

  24. Finally...Two-Hundred-Ninety-Fuckin'-Six!!! For the love of God, let's do this again tomorrow.
  25. Beltran had a great stroke on his broken bat single in the first. If his bat hadn't have broken, that one may have had a chance to go, too. Welcome back, Carlos.
