  1. Maine has pitched a gem...I would say dominant as I never really felt threatened that the Twinkies would score. He's probably done as he has 107 pitches after 7.
  2. PLD! The bats are alive tonight.
  3. Husky or Chunky?...the topic of great local debate.
  4. Ricky Ledee - Walking on the Moon, The Police
  5. Holy Kubel! That was one of the better outfield grabs I've seen this year.
  6. Umps blow the call at first in the top of 3. Hopefully, that won't bite us in the ass.
  7. Carlos goes KABOOM! 1-0 good guys in the 2nd.
  8. Mets.com wrote: Sunday, April 15 - Rescheduled RAINOUT TO BE MADE UP IN FIRST GAME OF DAY-NIGHT SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER ON JULY 28TH The New York Mets home game with the Washington Nationals from Sunday, April 15th, postponed due to rain, has been rescheduled as a part of a day-night, separate admission doubleheader on Saturday, July 28th at 12:10 p.m. ET. The following rain check policy will apply: 1. Tickets for the April 15th game only will be honored for the 12:10 p.m. game on July 28th. 2. The originally scheduled game for Saturday, July 28th will start at 7:10 p.m. and will be a separate admission game. Below is our standard rain check policy as indicated on the back of each single game ticket and in the 2007 Information Guide. RAIN CHECK NOTICE - In the event a regulation game is not played due to weather then, unless indicated otherwise on this ticket, this rain check can be exchanged for the same price seat for any regular season home game at the same facility this or next season, subject to availability, or (in the case of NY Mets tickets only) refunded during this or the next calendar year at Shea Stadium or by mail to the Mets Ticket Office. If issued complimentarily, this ticket shall have no value. Please contact the Mets Ticket Office at 718-507-TIXX with any additional questions.
  9. Peter Gammons reported during the game last night that Kenny Williams and Omar Minaya are once again talking about a Mark Buehrle trade. ESPN radio was all over the story this morning as well. With just over a month to go until the trading deadline, what summer rentals, if any, do you feel would address the Mets’ needs this season? And maybe even more importantly, what would or should the Mets give up for those rentals? The White Sox are a mess of injuries this season and those who are healthy have underperformed. They have little chance of competing for the AL Central or wildcard this year. IMO, Buehrle would help two parts of the Mets club. He would solidify the starting rotation, which was pretty good the first 2 months of the season but is now showing some blemishes. It would also allow El Duque or Sosa to move to the bullpen and hopefully allow Schoeneweis to go to the DL like he should. Scott has pitched in 45% of the Mets games this year AND he has a severed tendon in his left hamstring. I’m really sick of seeing him warm up in the bullpen. On the down side, I don’t know if I can see Buehrle re-signing with the Mets, so he would most likely be a true summer rental. That being said, I wouldn’t have a hard time giving up Milledge to fill those holes on the club. I would not, however, give up Pelfrey or Humber in addition to Milledge, even if they were adding Dye, even though it might be tempting. Brad Lidge is also rumored to be available. Apparently, he likes the fact that he would be able to setup his former mentor Wagner again. He may benefit from being with Wagner and pitching in a pitcher’s park rather than that milk crate in Houston. Again, he could take Schoeneweis’ spot, but the Mets would probably wait for more information on how well Pedro is coming along before they went this route. Not sure what the Astros would want, but Milledge seems like a little much straight up.
  10. Sweet! C'mon Carlos...you are sooo due!
  11. Reyes is the tying run at the plate. Nice AB by Gomez.
  12. Aaron Sele sighting!
  13. First and third, no outs, down by five, top of the lineup coming to bat...it's now or never.
  14. I wouldn't mind seeing some Steve Schmoll. I have little confidence in Mota or Schoeneweis.
  15. Strike up the Imperial March. KABOOM for Ramon.

  18. Willie and Buddy Bell...although, Buddy would probably have to get out of KC to manage 2000 wins.

I'm not expecting Alou back anytime soon, if at all. Certainly not before Chavez is ready. Can we rely on a Gomez/Ledee platoon until August? Milwaukee's got a surplus of outfielders. Kevin Mench could be had for a bag of balls and some pine tar. Geoff Jenkins would probably not be completely out of the question either...though we'd have to part with major league middle relief.

  21. And a run scored...Greenie brings the O back.
