  1. We're out hitting 'em 7-2...but still tied.
  2. Carlos doubles and Carlos singles. Just like old times. Tied game.
  3. The Phillies announcers are crap. They were so sure that ball was gone before Beltran caught it. Kalas should stick to football.
  4. ="Times"] Despite those positive steps, Mets Manager Willie Randolph said that Martnez would make another minor league start before joining the Mets. As he should. He should also get the hell out of Florida and face some higher talent before joining the big club.
  5. LASTINGS MILLEDGE!!! Why does everybody think you're so special?! You can't hit righties! You can't hit a breaking ball from lefties! You play average defense on your good days! You throw offline if you throw it hard and when you throw it straight it bounces six times! You look like a lost puppy dog running the bases! You have more strikeouts than hits and I can't remember a time when you didn't! You seem more concerned with looking good than playing good! Yet, people complain that you don't play enough and I would rather trade you for ANYTHING...are you ever going to live up to your billing??

  8. ***St. Lucie Update***: Martinez through 6: 5 hits, 1 run (unearned), 2 BB, 4 K, 1 HPB Carlos Gomez 0-3 with a K. St. Lucie tied with Palm Beach 1-1.
  9. I wouldn't mind not seeing Lawrence in a Mets uniform ever again. Welcome back, Endy. See ya, Larry.
  10. ***St. Lucie Update*** Martinez through 3 innings: 3 hits, 1 run (unearned), 1 K, 1 BB
  11. metirish wrote: Guys in the booth talking about E ndy Chavez,Keith said that Endy doesn't play enough to win a gold glove but he plays one, then said that he's a complete player,my question is can you be a complete player as a bench player/fourth outfielder. Yup, as long as your sample sizes stay small.
  12. ="metirish"]Cubs,Cards and Brewers will be great to watch, what happened to the Brewers,a lack of depth ? Dickshot has the Rox, I have the Brewers. Their games start about an hour after the Mets do for the most part, so I usually catch the last hour of the Brewers after the Mets are done. Milwaukee's lack of depth is showing through. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure why they weren't even mentioned in considering Castillo or Conine to help out their depth this year. Either or both would have been great for them. Their troubles consist of not being able to tack on insurance runs and blowing leads later in the ballgame. No team is immune to that, but they seem to get bitten by it a lot. They hit a bunch of home runs, but if they don't hit one out of the park, they very rarely have a big inning. The feeling in the Midwest right now is that the Cardinals are going to come on strong and steal the division from the Cubs and Brewers.
  13. Philly scores 3 in each of the first two frames vs. SD and leads 6-0. Atlanta just underway at St. Louis.
  14. Good win against Penny. Perez didn't look invincible, but went 7 only allowing 3 hits and no runs. Let's get another one tomorrow.
  15. Wagner is going to make it queasy even with the 4 run lead.
  16. Lastings Milledge sounds the same in Spanish.
  17. Johnny Dickshot wrote: Anyone remember that game show called "Whew!"? No...but according to wikipedia, their theme song was composed by Alan Thicke
  18. David's glove saving the day. The Dodgers only get one out of the bases loaded opportunity.
  19. I like the offense right now, and the starting pitching has been mediocre at best...but this bullpen is utterly undependable. Like night and day from last year.
  20. Refreshing it is not as Sosa loads the bags with 1 out in the 8th. Pedro in.
  21. Meanwhile in Philly: Padres keep up their offensive surge leading the Phils 9-3 and threatening in the 7th. Atlanta just underway in St. Louis after a rain delay.
  22. Through 7: Mets lead 3-0. In comes the bullpen. It would be refreshing to see them get 6 outs without incident.
  23. Mets have put together 2 runs through 3 innings against Penny. Reyes scored both and now has 97 on the season. Perez doesn't look good and has been in jams all night. Luckily, so far he's been able to get out of them.
  24. Milledge Ks for the 7th time in a row. 2 away from the ML record. I'm pretty sure a RF needs to know how to hit a breaking ball.
