  2. He said both words. The reporters seemed to be pushing him a little harder after he dropped the f-bomb. He was talking about the Victorino play and how he [billy] is 37 and Victonino is "what, like 25?" Matt Yaloff paused when the feed got back to the studio and said something to the effect of "that's what a major league clubhouse is like."
  3. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3502769 Pedro's father lost his battle with brain cancer at 79. Pedro was informed during the game. As one of the brightest personalities on the team and in all of baseball, I can't imagine what Pedro's going through right now. (Merged from RIP Pablo Martinez, 7/25/2008)
  4. Sabathia pitches his 3rd complete game in a row tonight. He's only made 4 starts as a Brewer. The Brewers have won 7 in a row including 3 of the first 4 at St. Louis. Oh, and they pitch Sheets in the finale. If the Cubs lose at Arizona tonight, they are tied for first. Scary team right now.
  5. Billy with a "fuck" and a "shit" in his post-game interview.
  6. I like mixing it up with Delgado at cleanup. Marlon has no business being on this team. He's been great for us in the past, but not at all this year. Good win, let's take the nooner tomorrow.
  7. Maine 4 Reyes 2 Easley 1 Schneider 1 Schoeneweis 1 Wright 1
  8. Warthen's had a couple of other big-league pitching coach positions. Seattle, San Diego and Detroit IIRC. None of the staffs were anything to write home about.
  9. Delgado 2 Reyes 2 Sanchez 2 Wagner 1 Castro 1 Beltran 1 Cancel 1
  10. Valadius wrote: Back in first! Thanks in part to FLA. Don't look now, but they're only a game behind. Big, big series this week vs. Philly.

  12. Delgado has had himself a pretty excellent series. Tie game again.
  13. Just like that, it's tied. Grrr...
  14. It's hard to second guess Jerry when Argenis got the hit, Wright was 3 for 3 going into his last AB, and it worked on Thursday...but for my money, late inning defense trumps late inning offense in a tight game. I wonder if the Reds would be up by 5 if Endy was in RF (edit) last inning.
  15. I really hope that the 10 game winning streak wasn't just these assholes yanking our chain. Nothing terribly inspired about the last 2 nights after the comeback on Thursday. Maybe Jerry should flip over some buffet tables.
  16. Weathers and Cordero vs. the bottom half of the order to look forward to.
  17. Goddammit! 10 f'ing hits=2 runs?
  18. Mets gonna get screwed by they umps again here.
  19. We should talk Ollie into a tattoo that says "Walks Kill".
  20. Wright's not wrong. KABOOM!
  21. Philly was a loser at Florida...the door to first place is open again. Time to start another streak: NY Mets J. Reyes ss E. Chavez rf D. Wright 3b C. Beltran cf D. Easley 2b C. Delgado 1b F. 22. 10 is the highest number.
