  1. That may be the first time I've seen a 9-5 fielder's choice. Schneider is slow.
  2. I voted indifference because that's how I felt 3 days ago. I'm more cautiously optimistic now.
  3. According to the Rockies broadcast booth, this is the first time since 1991 that 3 managers have been fired in one week.
  4. Maine rolling.

  7. Lots of pretty good D on both sides tonight.
  8. Nixon with a nifty run-saving catch himself.
  9. Chavez is an outfield GOD!
  10. Trot Nixon - first Metly HR! The Rox announcers were so confident about Aaron Cook because of his previous stats against the Mets. Cook doesn't have it tonight.
  11. It's raining Mets runs...where is everyone?
  12. Delgado can still hit game tying HRs, though.
  13. Delgado definitely needs the help of a gold glove at first. Let's rock the Rox!
  14. Ramirez. That Reyes kid ain't bad, though.
  15. Vic Sage wrote: i did mention it, in the post above discussing "fictional" superhero tv shows. But its not an adaptation of an existing comic book character. You did...completely missed it, my bad.
  16. What, no Greatest American Hero?

  18. The ERA+ of the teams he was pitching coach for: 1992 Mariners 87 1996 Padres 108 1997 Padres 78 1999 Tigers 94 2000 Tigers 99 2001 Tigers 85 2002 Tigers 86 Not sure what this tells us (not enough time to look up more stuff), but my first reaction is "ehh." In his defense, this may be the best starting rotation he's ever had.
  19. What do we know about him? I'd never heard much about him before today. Former pitching coach and bullpen coach for many teams. After looking up his former pitching staffs, none of them really inspire me.

I know their pain...I can't sleep when David Wright is on a plane either.
  21. He looked younger than his age when hired at 50, but now looks older than 53
  22. I miss the formula of late 70s early 80s hour long adventure shows. Every week would be a new story that was usually unrelated to last week or next week. These days, if you miss an episode of an hour long TV series, you might as well stop watching for the season and rent the DVD for a weekend 6 months later. Way too much of a commitment for me. Give me The Hulk, Dukes of Hazard, The A Team and The Fall Guy.
  23. The family gave me a choice of what movie I wanted them to take me to for Father's Day and this one beat out Indy IV and The Happening. I have to say I was pleaseantly surprised. As I've noted in a couple of the Comic Movie threads, I don't know much about comic book characters, so I'm usually pretty disappointed when going to see these types of films. But, I was a fan of the TV show in the early 80's so I figured I could follow along. I thought the cast and crew did a really good job with the story and effects. They didn't reference the 2003 movie much, if at all (I know I've seen it, but I'm pretty sure I fell asleep about 30 minutes in). They did, however, pay alot of respect to the TV show. Cameos are made by Lou Ferigno and Bill Bixby (via TV images of The Courtship of Eddie's Father) and from what I've read on the internet, Lou even provides the Hulk's dialouge for the 3 or 4 words that he bellows. The piano theme used for the TV show was even reused. The love scenes are a bit strained, as they often are in these movies, and of course, the last 5 minutes scream "SEQUEL" as well as involvement in other Marvel projects...but these predictable moments didn't ruin what was an exciting and enjoyable experience.
  24. I would have to guess that outside of the teams within their division, D-bags fans probably hate the Mets more than most other teams. They can take pride in the fact that they won a championship from the Yanks the year after we couldn't...but head to head, it seems we have had our way with them more times than not, and in dramatic fashion at that.
