  1. The Cubs have very little to play for during this series. They need either a win or a Philly loss over the next week to secure homefield through the NL side of the playoffs. The SNY booth was speculating yesterday that Marquis is not guaranteed a postseason roster spot, so this may be an audition of sorts for him. As for the rest of the series, they were relaying that according to their information they would be surprised to see a starter go more than 5 innings. Going 6-6 in our twelve games against Washington and Atlanta makes these 4 with the Cubs that much more necessary. Right now, I think a split does very little for us. 3 of 4 would be nice and a sweep would rock. Anything less than a split will feel a lot like last year.
  2. MLB.TV stayed with the SNY feed a little too long during the pitching change. Keith: "Jerry's treating his bullpen like they're the last kids picked in dodgeball."
  3. This looks like it could be a long game.
  4. How about that!
  5. He does with a double down the line.
  6. YIP. Oh, David.
  7. Yeah, their 1-1, meaning Sveum has a better winning percentage than Willie did this year.
  8. I'm sure he meant Charlie Samuels...who as we all know, secretly controls all things Mets.
  9. Ah...I see, now. Makes sense.

Home field advantages would go to Los Angeles and Chicago. I'm pretty sure if the season ended today we would play the NLDS vs. the Cubs since we would be the wild card and the Cubs have the best record.
  11. Castillo.
  12. Beltran 3 Reyes 2 Delgado 2 Murphy 1 Schneider 1 Schoeneweis 1
  13. To be fair, it was a decent pitch by Feliciano that turned into a lucky hit for Nieves. Feliciano had the rare goods tonight.

  16. Ben Sheets leaves the game against the Cubs after 2 innings with forearm tightness and a 3 run lead. Could sink a drowning Brewer squad.

  18. Sorry, I'm late. Lookin' good so far...I was expecting worse.
  19. Isn't this early? I remember in years past the schedule being pieced together bit by bit. Good to know ahead of time, though.
  20. It seems like David Wright has done that his whole fucking career. I would bet that every scouting report for every team has: 1. Wright will take a first-pitch fastball down the middle which is an automatic 0-1 count.
  21. 9-4 would be better...but at this point, I'll take one game at a time.
  22. wow. this sucks.
  23. Hey...is this a rally? Do it David!
  24. Keith: "Garrett Mock earned every bit of that earned run." Classic.
  25. Hey, O...score some runs!
