Look at us. We usually don't get to page 2 on a Friday until the 5th inning or so. The Mets are like heroin. I need a fix.

    Postponed. Dammit.

Hah, actually no, just overcast here. But the radar doesn't look promising.
  4. TransMonk
    I'm not optimistic.

Micah Owings completes the deal. Just in case anyone was holding their breath. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3584426

The Mets were two games under .500 when he took over. The Mets have more wins than anyone in baseball since. 'Nuff said. If they make the playoffs, I don't see how C. Manuel, Pinella, Yost or Torre even come close. Cooper has an outside shot if the Astros complete the unprobable comeback.

I was sick to my stomach all day that day. That was the only time I can remember being physically ill because of baseball. Still, in hindsight, losing to the Cardinals in 2006 was worse for me. That 2006 team seemed like a team of destiny and was the best team in baseball for most of the year. The 2007 squad SUCKED for a lot of that season and the real collapse happened in June and July rather than in September. They were never good enough to beat those other playoff teams in October of 2007.

    Thank you, David.

11 should be enough, but more insurance runs sure would be nice with the top of the order up.

    Rally! What is Milledge doing?

David's D looks pretty good as well. Get a hit, buddy!

F'n shocker. I really root for the guy every time he goes out there. But he has been burned SO many times. Ugh.
  13. TransMonk
One out rallies are nice, too.
  14. TransMonk
    Fucking Dukes.

I like 2 out rallies. Even if they only score one run. Tatis says, "If your going to play a shitty outfield, at least make the play, Milledge."

We're 3 back from the Cubbies. I think we're 5 back from the Cubs, but it still may make that series a bigger one than it already was. The Mets have more wins than any MLB team since the day Manuel took over.

LA plays Colorado 3 more times and San Francisco 6 more times. Arizona plays Colorado 6 more times and San Francisco 7 more times. San Francisco and Colorado play each other 3 more times. Coming in to today the most wins that San Diego could finish with was 74. There was not a scenario where LA and Arizona lose enough games that they finish with 74 wins where either Colorado or San Fran didn't finish with 75.

There's no reason we can't take 8 of 12 from ATL and WAS over the next 2 weeks. Anything less would be disappointing with the way this team has been playing.

Yeah, down by 6 late, I disapprove of using so many bullpen arms in the first game of a DH. Losing the early game will make the late game as much of a must win as we've had in a while.

MLB.TV not staying with the commercial-less SNY for the rest of the game. Instead they will try to get me to by a SHARP Aquos TV for the 173rd time this season. They need more than one sponsor.
  22. TransMonk
Shitballs. Anytime the offense wants to show up this series, it would be appreciated.
  23. TransMonk
MLB.TV has the Phillie broadcasters. What a crock! On edit...now they have switched to SNY...as it should be.
  24. TransMonk
Well, how many times this year have we lost the first game in a series to Philly just to come back and take the rest? Myers was on, but I'm still confident.

    Jefferies?
