  2. Return of the Mook?
  3. My special lady friend saw this last night with one of her girlfriends. They went to one of the Sundance theaters where you can drink wine while you watch the movie. When she got home she said she LOVED it. Harry Potter doesn't do it for me, but I'm glad she had fun.
  4. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Yes, but you'll see in the comments that I've come out against it. I'm cool if everyone else is.
  5. Couldn't watch it live, but after watching the replay, I like Terry more than I did 4 hours ago. I still think the true test will be the first time we lose 4 in a row and the sky falls. But I like what I heard here in November.
  6. Do we have an AP hot-stove/non-Mets winter moves thread yet? Shit's gonna start happening fast.
  7. Pedro is a franchise cornerstone. Metly since 2002. No one else can say that. Still, I'm surprised.
  8. "Im not the evil devil people have made me out to be." Did he really have to say that? I predict a defensive 2 years coming. Ugh.
  9. Congrats to LWFS and Irish as they successfully predicted 5 out of 10 managers. No one picked Terry Collins for the Mets back in mid-October. 10. I have a green mets cap with a shamrock on the back. It is my favorite Mets cap and I wear it quite often. It lets people know that I am a Mets fan who sunburns easily. http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3322780
  11. I'm not overly optimistic about the prospect of any of them. I think Collins will get the job and end up stinking up the joint.
  12. The Mets can't afford him, can they? Wow, that was kind of weird to type.

  14. Per Wikipedia: According to director Gus Van Sant, [the B52's Private Idaho] was the song that inspired the title to his movie My Own Private Idaho. The song does not appear in the film.
  15. Hurdle. Though they all seem like used up ass-bags to me.
  16. Other than the brittleness, I am nothing but pleased with what Carlos has given the Mets over the past 6 (!) years.
  17. Backman, Collins and Melvin are all very uninspiring to me...even with the tirades one of them produces. I'm beginning to root for Hurdle and the Hales. **Cool band name alert**
  18. So with second interviews being scheduled and no mention of Valentine being contacted at all, the dream seems to be dying. I have to say that none of the guys being given second interviews really impress me.
  19. Sandy Alderson wrote: John Ricco will have significant responsibilities. He will continue as assistant general manager, but also will have some direct line responsibilities involving various aspects of support services like medical, clubhouse, video, a whole host of things we have. But he also will be directly involved with our decision making. I think we have a replacement for Charlie Samuels.
  20. Edgy likes them relievers.

  22. This is bad. Worse than punching your father-in-law bad. Gah.
  23. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I don't think clubbies dealing roids, staying a step ahead of the IRS and pinching memorabilia for $$ on the side is limited to the Mets. Or a few teams...I would guess they are all doing it to some degree or another.
