  1. I've got $37. How much of a stake will that get me?
  2. I think this is the coolest thing ever. Great job, BG!
  3. Ashie62 wrote: U2 has been irrelevant since "Sunday Bloody Sunday." Tell that to Bono.
  4. I caught this last night on cable (after being shocked at my lack of film watching over the past couple of years). I thought it was pretty OK. First off, the soundtrack was amazing. I thought the characters were great and some of the hijinks were funny. I really enjoyed Brannagh's character. The ending was stupid, but there are few that aren't anymore. Hokey and predictable? Yes. But it was moderately enjoyable to me.
  5. I looked at the list and the only film I've seen that is nominated for anything is Iron Man 2, and I only watched that because my lady friend rented it. I want to see Black Swan and maybe True Grit, but I don't really get excited by movies anymore.
  6. I expect he will make the team and be a let down in a lot of crucial spots off the bench. Fans will be booing him by May 15th.
  7. Who's Johnny V? And is he married to Lance Berkman?
  8. Play it out, Jose.
  9. Pelf avoids arbitration and signs 1 year $4M deal: An organization source said the deal will pay Pelfrey $3.925 million during the upcoming season. He can earn $50,000 extra in performance bonuses. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-yorkmets/post/_/id/13436/source-pelfrey-mets-settle
  10. I'd love to see him finally stick with the big club. I don't see him ever being a long-term starter, but I wouldn't mind rooting for him off the bench.
  11. I can't see St. Louis letting him walk...but if they do, I'd be interested. As mentioned above, Tex, Howard and Gonzo being signed to the big 3 takes them out of the picture. Fielder is going to wind up somewhere too. It's fun to dream, but I think the odds would be huge in favor of the Cards signing him up before ST.
  12. I have no expectations for Brad. My hope is that he doesn't muck anything up.
  13. Thumbs up, man!
  14. Ceetar wrote: in other news, apparantly Jeff Francis to the Royals. I guess that makes Chris Young becoming a Met a little more likely.
  15. He'll thrive in Buffalo until he is called up after Beltran is traded. He'll provide decent pop but struggle in nearly every other area.
  16. A Regression to Average: 9-11, 4.46 ERA
  17. Sophmore slump forthcoming offensively. .252, 12 HR, 61 RBI He will not disappoint with the glove, though.
  18. I was at that game. It was a gay dame with co-workers. I was drunk before it started. Wasn't much of a game afer the first inning...not that I'd remember.
  19. Traded by the Mets during ST, then traded again to a contender at the break. Comes alive in October after having to fill in for someone due to injury. Wins WS MVP. The Mets pay 70% of his salary during the whole ride. This game is funny.
  20. Can we use AL lineups? If so, can we count pitchers in addition to DHs? For example: Saturday, August 31, 1996 - Kingdome Orioles @ Mariners Roberto Alomar 2B Brady Anderson CF Cal Ripken SS Rafael Palmeiro 1B Bobby Bonilla RF Todd Zeile 3B Eddie Murray DH Pete Incaviglia LF Mark Parent C Scott Erickson P OE: Davey Johnson, Mgr.
  21. I think Cappy could thrive with the change in scenery. I don't think he'll post All-Star numbers, but he will round out the back of the rotation with around 10 wins and an ERA just above 4. He seems like a smart guy who is on top of what he should be doing to be an effective pitcher...so pretty much the anit-Ollie.
  22. The first dude called up to the pen from the minors once one of the regular relievers has to spend time in the rotation due to a starter's injury. I like the Bucky moniker.
