  1. I'm making a late new year's resolution to participate more in the SPotG votes.
  2. Are those actual stirrups or stirrup socks?
  3. Edgy DC wrote: Does Church have a job right now? Per Wikipedia, Church is currently a free agent.
  4. One time "closer of the future", IIRC.
  5. The two Milwaukees, if you please.
  6. Frankie with a BB, a single, and a K in the ninth. Put it in the books!

  8. Vic can't help it. His glasses seem to be tinted with shit. I hope the Mets prove him wrong. Deep down inside, I'd bet he does too.
  9. Are we sure it wasn't the second post in this thread that caused Bay's injury?
  10. Talk about energy suckers...sounds to me like it's already been sucked. Irish - what worries you about the O?
  11. I worry about overall health. I worry that Pelfrey, Niese and especially Dickey will not be as good as last season. I worry that Reyes will be dealt at the deadline for overall financial reasons even though we will have an opportunity to compete for a playoff spot.
  12. If this team has no long-term injuries (I'm looking at YOU, Carlos!), it will finish above .500. I haven't been as optimistic about an opening day roster since 2007. There isn't too much that bothers me about this team. From the lineup to the rotation to the bullpen to the bench, I think the talent is good enough to compete. 2011 Terry will be better than 2010 Jerry...he can't be any worse, right? 2011 will come down to durability, durability, durability.
  13. 1. Pagan 2. Bay 3. Reyes 4. Wright 5. Reyes 6. Wright 7. Davis 8. Reyes 9. Emaus 10. Pagan 11. Bay 12. Pagan 13. Bay 14. Byrdak 15. Davis 16. Pelfrey 17. Dickey 18. Bay 19. Capuano 20. Nickeas Tiebreaker bonus (if necessary): 07/06/11
  14. One of my better case scenarios for the 2011 season is that Emaus makes 3 errors in the All-Star Game.
  15. 1. Where they will finish in the NL East FOURTH 2. What the final record will be 77-85 3. If you predict a wild card spot, say so NULL 4. If you predict a playoff appearance, how far will they go? NULL

  17. Give us: -The order of how each divsion will finish (records not manditory, but if you are so inclined...) -A Wild Card winner from each league -A League Champion from each league -A World Champion -MVP, Cy Young and ROY award winners from each league

  19. Four is my favorite number. I keep tabs on whoever has it on the Mets. I guess I'll be following Emaus closely if he makes the team.
  20. Beato, Byrdak, Boyer, Bucholz and Bobby. Kind of an Houston Astro vibe in the possible bullpen.
  21. Hank White (Henry Blanco)
  22. Andy Pants (Anderson Hernandez)
  23. Per Rubin, Boyer can opt to become a FA next Thursday. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/17562/mets-morning-briefing-3-24-11 Adam Rubin wrote: As it stands now, Isringhausen has a real battle to make the team. Blaine Boyer has an "out" in his contract next Thursday, on the eve of the regular season, and has very much impressed. If the regular season started today, it sounds like the Mets would take Pedro Beato and Boyer for the final two bullpen slots, joining Francisco Rodriguez, Bobby Parnell, D.J. Carrasco, Tim Byrdak and Taylor Buchholz. Lots of tough decisions as we prepare to battle.
