  1. I predict he's going to look exactly exactly like his old man in 32 years.
  2. Yay. Work is better with an extra screen devoted to baseball.
  3. I like the harp!
  4. I'm starting to get "buy WBC bullshit!" emails from MLB every day and I'm guessing that MLB is exclusively in charge of all logos/uni's/merch for half or soof the teams, the exceptions being Cuba, Japan, Australia, China, South Korea, Chinese Taipei? Anyone know if that's the case? All the logos, etc. that they sell seem to be mostly the same as years previous, but this year all the uniforms are of the sleeveless variety (except Japan). Of what I've seen and is for sale on MLB's site, I like Japan's home jersey best, followed closely by Italy and their classic, Dodger-y look (minus the stupid sleeves). USA's jerseys are still garbage. I don't remember for certain, but their road uni's look darker now, borrowing from the Diamondbacks "Garbage Men from Space" look: I still love Mexico's green hat. Israel's is pretty cool, too, but reminds me of the box that carries this delicious Jewish cake we get every year around the holidays. I wish I could find a picture of that box, too. Gun to your head, if you had to buy one WBC piece of merch, what would you buy?
  5. Radio ad is telling me that Cosmo magazine is porno filth and Wal-Mart needs to stop selling it NOW!!!! and they are pushing this website -> cosmohurtskids.com makes me miss 1-877-kars for kids
  6. Gameday is definitely in spring training mode.
  7. Yepp, pretty side-armed now. Gary mentioned another lefty, Zach Duke i think, who tried the same and had success. He's walked 3, threw a wild pitch that caromed directly back to home plate otherwise a run woulda scored. Now some kid just punched a single to right. U-G-L-Y.
  8. I can report with accuracy that Gorzelanny looks like dog shit.
  9. Ceetar wrote: Now it's working great on my 40$ shitty Kindle Fire. Ps - i like the plain, white lettering on the spring uni's. Definitely looks more like a practice jersey. The optimized apps might just be better coded than the web versions maybe? Houston's radio guy is rather monotonous. which is fine as it's background noise right now I guess. Yah, very possible RE: apps.

Super choppy on a Macbook Pro w/ Firefox or Safari as well as a Chromebook. Currently watching on my phone like an idiot. can't without an account. annoying. plus NBC isn't getting its act together for Spring apparently. Now it's working great on my 40$ shitty Kindle Fire. 12. I thought we mighta re-signed Nick Evans for a minute there.
  13. Jeez Louise, he's like my grandad already.
  14. Smith does look as advertised with the glove, though. Real smooth. And I already said it, but the Vegas boys - Rivera, Nimmo, Cheech, Dom Smith, and Rosario will be there soon enough, they looked very competent.
  15. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Radio guys criticized Smith for the Plawecki play, saying he threw to 2nd too soon. They saw it better, I'm sure, but from what I remember, Smith did pretty alright. He ran towards the hung-up runner who started to retreat to second. The runner at third is never gonna break for home until Smith throws to second anyway. As Edgy pointed out, Rosario woulda had him dead-to-rights at home with a better throw.
  16. I really like our Las Vegas/JV guys alot.
  17. This McGowan kid is tryna work the deGrom/Gsellman vibes, but his hair needs work, as does his game. Yup, on Rosario. That replay shows a dead-on throw woulda kept Plawecki out of the line of fire. But Dom Smith looks smooth out there.
  18. Man, that was ugly. Very, very happy to see him not carted off there, but def needed help coming down the dugout steps.
  19. Conforto homers. Uh oh.
  20. Checchini homers, taking the early lead for STMVP. 2-nil Metropolitans.
  21. With an opposite field hit against a lefty, Conforto excites everyone in the way that only the first day of spring can prompt such excitement. Mets go up 1-nil after a Lagares walk, the amazing Conforto single, and a Wilmer fielder's choice. Travis also got a base knock. I guess start printing WS tickets.
  22. I just made a wish for Plawecki so I gotta stick with it. Bats just south of .400, pops a few bombs, and the Mets find time for him at DH, and even a few reps at first base.
  23. I'd almost forgotten how competent a hitter Plawecki was in the minors. I'm hoping for 3 hits today that get him started on a ferocious tear that continues through the season and makes decisions difficult for everyone all year. Springtime is for optimism.
  24. Looks like 27 years old. I have just aged him into his prime! http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=7655&position=P
  25. I think I read that one then. Tale of 2 baseball games, one AL, one NL, one grass, one turf, something like that.
