  1. Wolves of '74: None. Unless Topps whited out Agee's pinstripes ala Strom '73, and painted in collar stripes: OE -- Nah. That's an Astro collar, which Topps wouldn't have drawn in on a Dodger card. So, no Wolves of '74. Maybe this thread'll inspire our custom card-makers to thrown down their own Wolves in Sheep's Clothing creations. Something like an Ike Davis in a '72 Pirate template in a Met home pinstriped uni cropped around the jersey wordmark with a cap/helmet painted yellow and an ugly Pittsburgh "P" drawn on.
  2. Someone'll have to get killed before they start extending those nets. $$$$ and risk-reward and cost of lawsuits all that jazz. I'm surprised no one's gotten killed yet, and that's what ML is saying to itself: 100+ years of baseball and no one's ever gotten killed yet. But those seats right at the edge of the netting are dangerous. There, you should never take your eye off of the play.
  3. Wolves of '73 Agee's card also features a coupl'a sheeps in wolves' clothing.
  4. Wolves of 1971 (The tail end of the run of '71 cards ushers in the Topps paint a logo on the uni with a crayon era).
  5. Wolves of '66: OE -- Kroll's wearing a Phillie top, as evidenced by his horizontal shoulder pinstripes. Same for Smith/White Sox.
  6. * *Davis might be in Seattle Pilot duds.
  7. Wolves of '68: Another close call on Davis. If he's wearing road gray, the lack of piping puts him in a Dodgers jersey. If he's in home white, and you believe the jersey is pinstripe-less, then he's also wearing a Dodgers jersey. You gotta believe Davis is in pinstripes for him to be a Wolf of '68.
  8. Wolves Hiding in Sheeps' Clothing -- 1969 Topps Style
  9. "I'll betcha a Lear Jet that if Facebook took their poll today, we'd have gained back a coupl'a counties." [fimg=544]http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.1007686.1326862143!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_970/fred-wilpon-jeff-wilpon-bernie-madoff.jpg?enlarged[/fimg]
  10. Add Jack Fisher to this bunch. * *Davis might be in Seattle Pilot duds.
  11. Juan Acevedo. Mexico.
  12. I woulda beat you if I didn't, all of a sudden, decide to add that bit about the homerless stuff.
  13. SteveJRogers wrote: Selma could be in his 1969 Cub greys. Selma's in pinstripes.
  14. The catchers are Frankie Francisco Estrada and Alex Trevino. They combined for, (I think - without peeking) 0 Met Hr's.
  15. No takers on the last 1969er? He does have a 1970 card, though with his logo scrubbed off of the cap, and listed as a Houston Astro: Coupl'a other players from that set appearing in a Mets uniform, but for another team: * *Davis might be in Seattle Pilot duds. OE -- Jack Fisher added.
  16. Lucas Duda's pissed and sez it ain't fair -- pitchers have their own pitcher of the month award -- they shouldn't be eligible for player of the month.
  17. Gee's current NL ranks: WAR (ESPN) - 12 WHIP - 14 ERA - 17 BA - 10 OBP - 11 OPS - 12 IP - 5 GS - 2 Batters Faced - 10 RE24 - 9 WPA/LI - 5 REW - 9 http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/NL/2014-pitching-leaders.shtml
  18. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I don't think I've ever seen those cards with the extra text stamped on them. (I also have to confess that I don't know what "O-Pee-Chee" is, although it sounds familiar.) O-Pee-Chee was a Canadian Topps licensee that produced, among other things, Topps cards for the Canadian market. Other O-Pee-Chee baseball card modifications included French language card backs.
  19. If it's April, 1969, then Don didn't just jump on the bandwagon.
