  1. Some of this new stuff looks like the most overloaded Primanti's sandwich stuffed inside of a lasagna. And then wrapped in a taco shell. Yummy. I can't wait. /rolls eyes.
  2. Looks like that Blue Smoke fried bologna sandwich is gone for good.
  3. Choo Choo Coleman and Ron Hodges batted lefty, too.
  4. Daniel Murphy and Bob Gallagher go back to back yard. Kevin Collins grounds into an inning ending double play -- O'Brien to Ryan to Goldberg. Goldberg?
  5. Nimmo Rising = Lagares Superfluous
  6. No to 1st round chronological order matchups. Those Willard Mullin covers are among the best. Why don't you secretly seed them yourself and then have a 1 v 64, 2 v 63, etc. NCAA style bracket. Do that without telling us you did that. OE--- I already know which is my fave. For many, many years.
  7. Edgy MD wrote: I doubt they'll be longer. I'm fairly certain that the math will show that they'll be shorter. I agree. I'd bet that it's likelier that one team rather than both can score the new rule baserunner. Plus, some games will end when the home team's first batter drives in the winning run. This new setup should promote sac bunting, especially for the home team when the visitors couldn't score in their extra inning half. Sac bunting makes sense in a sudden death situation when there's a runner on second with no outs.
  8. I don't care. It's a minor league rule change and the # of minor league games I watch every year is about zero. I predict this rule won't make it to MLB.

This president stopped listening to anyone probably when he was a teen-ager. He's been exhibiting psychopathic traits since he was a child. As a young boy, he used to throw rocks at baby's heads and then laugh about it. He's worse than a bad presixent. He's a bad seed. I don't think talking to the President would have any effect on the President, as the Parkland kids are finding out. But I think it demonstrates a spirit of cooperation that is necessary to pull our country out of this mess. Lead by example. Still, it would be hard to be in the same room as this asshat without wanting to punch him. It truly is a shitshow because an ideal president would be extremely open-minded and willing to listen to a vast number of experts and advisers whose opinions cover the entire ideological spectrum. Who has Trump's ear? Stephen Miller? Sean Hannity?

  11. Edgy MD wrote: No, it wasn't spoken that way at all. It sure comes off that way. A major market team that spends like a major market team could absorb lotsa dead money. But not Cincinnati. I have no problem with the Mets passing on Arrieta if the Mets truly think he won't be as good as he needs to be to make the signing worthwhile. But I have an enormous problem with the Mets wanting Arrrieta but not being able to afford him. Of course, with the Mets, we'll never truly know what's what because everybody there is totally full of shit what with them having to cover up the magnitude of their financial woes every time tbey open their mouths.
  12. Edgy MD wrote: Well, the idea is that $75 mill invested poorly in one place means $75 mill not invested wisely in another place. Spoken as if the Mets are on a Cincinnati budget. Which they are.
  13. Vic Sage wrote: People thought [Matlack] was dead. My father was, like, "of course he's dead. that's the Mets for you." Some things never change.
  14. Marty Perez hit the liner that hit Matlack's skull. Matlack contemplated pitching with a hockey mask upon his return, but didn't. The scoreboard clock was sponsored by Elgin as early as 1977. I've got pics of the clock from 1976 but I can't tell the sponsor. The 1976 lettering doesn't look like Longines or Elgin. When my internet connection gets fixed, I'll post pics.

  16. Plus, Sewald's value skyrocketed after he won the Schaefer Reliever of the Year award.

That's probably the guy who worked himself into a frenzy every time I posted a Megdal piece. The guy who probably has fits if I so much as breathe. The guy who suspended me for 30 days because I started threads and wrote posts about the way Travis d'Arnaud cocks his wrists. He might suspend me again if I post about my pussycat or if I start a thread in the film forum about the Vagina Monologues.

  19. A Boy Named Seo wrote: Kevin goes PLOWECKI! 1-nil Mets. I wonder if Travis is giving Plawecki wrist-cock tips? I hope no one's thinking of putting that dildo back in Plawecki's locker. Otherwise, he might slump
  20. Fuck Esther Williams with the dildo in Kevin Plawecki's locker. And then ask her all about her wrist-cock technique.
  21. d'Kong76 wrote: d'Gone! d'Boom! Must be Travis's improved wrist-kook technique.
  22. Vic Sage wrote: Or he could sign with Seattle, which could get a sponsorship deal with the Space Needle, renaming the stadium after it... that way, you could have a Panik in Needle Park. The Panic in Needle Park is now playing on MOVIES! channel.
  23. Speaking for myself, I don't want the Mets to be like the Yankees. I just wish the Mets weren't so much like the Mets.
  24. Ceetar wrote: batmagadanleadoff wrote: This game pits one of the smartest organization's in baseball against one of the dumbest. Also, a first class citizen of a first class city against a second class citizen of a first class city. Can you guess which is which? One team's been to the World Series once in 15 years. They happened to win. The other team's been to the World Series once in 15 years, they happened to lose. One team hasn't had a losing record since 1992. The other team has just two first place finishes in that same time even though both teams play in the same exact market. First place finishes are the best measure of a team's success because they're based on the largest and thus, most meaningful sample size -- an entire 162 game season. The playoffs are a lucky crap shoot. Do you really wanna go here? There's more.
