  2. How long before SNY replays this game? I bet it'lll be within a week or two. The "shirt" game might even eventuallly come to replace the "Matt Franco" game as SNY's most replayed game. Also, Stephen Strasburg was the starting pitcher in what are two of the greatest regular season games played at Citi Field: last night's "shirt" game and the "Harvey's better" game.

  4. Give up on giving up, youse all. Here's a three pack to fill in today's Mets baseball-less void. More Gomez than you can handle, an alien invasion and another trip into the time machine set for 1969. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48488829457_040ce6974b_z.jpg> https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48488829517_bec15aeed5_z.jpg> https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48488666271_e58ce144e2_z.jpg>
  5. =kcmets post_id=18060 time=1565205917 user_id=53] I'm waiting for a fake villan... "Holy imposter, batnmags! Ralph Nader was never on Batman.
  6. =G-Fafif post_id=18053 time=1565204180 user_id=55] Can't wait to see Jed Lowrie's card, presumably printed in January.
  7. Edgy MD wrote: Raquel Welch and Ratso Rizzo? I missed more Bat-villains than I realize. Silly you! The Bat-Villains don't appear on the Batman69 inserts.
  8. Holy News flash! The Mets don't give a shit whether or not youse gave up. This sweep was so enjoyable that I think I'll give youse all another three pack. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48482377017_05980065f2_z.jpg>https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48573659991_081be1e7a4_z.jpg>https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48482377152_fef69c4d95_z.jpg>

They do it all the time.
  10. Wasn't he like one of the hardest guys to strike out in all of baseball?
  11. Thanks, you're very talented. Thanks, right back atcha. What I wanted to say in the other post in this thread is to follow up on not being so concerned about the other teams, yet. I don't fret about the Mets, as you say, lost opportunity to move ahead of the DBacks the other day because that Mets loss will hurt them just the same even if the DBacks had lost on that day. I think this is all a convoluted way of really saying, "Just win, baby". I mean, to use an extreme example that still kinda makes the point, a team that loses on Opening day is behind half the teams in the league, assuming every team starts on the same day. See what I mean? So what. yeah, i'm on board with "just win", gone are the days of 100 win teams missing the playoffs with 4 divisions and no wildcard. win enough and you'll get there. it probably needs to be at least labor day before i worry about what the other clubs do every day Yeah. At some point, that NGB stuff will defniitely matter. I just don't believe we're there yet.

  13. Edgy MD wrote: Double checking and ... nope, that's correct. I guess it's because San Francisco has a murder of a schedule coming up. Checking them out, they've got Nats, Phillies, Athletics, D-Backs, Cubs, Athletics, D-Backs. And then in September, they have six against the Dodgers, four against the Cards, and three each against the Braves and Red Sox. The Mets are supposed to have one of the easiest remaining schedules in the majors.
  14. =whippoorwill post_id=17595 time=1564957212 user_id=79] Love these cards
  15. Those odds also take into account the strength or quality of the team itself. So those odds are probably also saying that the Mets are better than the Giants.
  16. Blowing an opportunity to climb over a team (and everyone likes to say there's too many teams to climb over) is always bad with only two months left. Yesterday they erased a 'games back' and the others mostly did too. The day before they could have climbed over ARI - eliminating, at least temporarily, one of the dreaded 'tmttco's. Fewer teams to climb over has to be better than tmttco the first week of August or after Labor Day. Blah, blah blah. Have some Batman cards. This three pack includes a 2nd series Jacob deGrom variation and a Batman69 insert. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48456574656_9531833091_z.jpg> https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48437435062_57365fb119_z.jpg> https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48456839101_a72b79f274_z.jpg>
  17. Seth Lugo is NL Reliever of the Month for July, yet another award that apparently exists. So does, apparently, a Batman card with Seth Lugo's name on it. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48449585966_2d01114774_z.jpg> https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48449741117_ab05a3e4f8_z.jpg>https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48449586031_2d9a897c62_z.jpg>
  18. Anyone here who sez they can name every Met that pitched in relief this season in less than three minutes with no mistakes and no peeking is totally full of shit.
  19. I don't pay much attention to how many teams are ahead of the Mets in the race for the WC . It's still too early in the season for that, I figure. I mainly look at the games behind. I figure if the Mets win, the rest of that stuff will take care of itself. There's still enough season left where all those teams ahead of the Mets will be playing each other plenty, guaranteeing a loss in those head to heads. This is what youse call the net games behind stat, which I couldn't give a shit about until sometime after Labor Day.
  20. And one day, Stroman just might get onto one of those 2019 Batman Met cards. (Time for a another three-pack). https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48440575547_2c82905bdd_z.jpg> https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48440575517_c43cc64927_z.jpg>https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48440575587_900d0fa7bf_z.jpg>

  22. Whenever the balls are obviously juiced, science then always proves it. And then MLB issues a denial. Every single time. If you wanna believe MLB, the ball hasn't been altered since they changed the balls after Ray Chapman got killed by a HBP.
  23. Dom Smith will reportedly be out of action for at least one month. This being August already, that usually means out for the rest of the season. Either way, one month or two, it's a setback.
  24. The Wilpons are so savvy that they've managed two first place finishes in 31seasons while playing in the nation's largest market - the same market that the Yankees play in.
  25. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: I'd totally get a set They're available only in stores, in packs, one series at a time. Just like card collecting was in 1969.
