  1. That's a yuge park adjustment for Coors. Nearly the same ERA+ as LA, but an 0.88 difference in ERA.
  2. Oh, for fuck's sake, Reyes!
  3. Cabrera on DL, Ramirez added to roster. Thought process: 1. Oh, OK. Ramirez. He'll help. 2. Waitasecond. THERE IS NO RAMIREZ IN THE ORGANIZATION. FAFIF IS SCREWING WITH MY HEAD! 3. Fafif doesn't screw around when it comes to the Mets. 4. Ahhhh. This guy.

  5. 12 AB against lefties all season. Not his fault; the Mets just haven't seen many lefties lately. But I'm holding off on making Conforto my next mancrush until he demonstrates that he will no longer wilt against good left-handed pitching.

  7. In Gotham's fair city Where the pitching's not pretty I first set my eyes on sweet Tommy Milone He gave us five innings And we should have been winning Crying the bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow The bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow He sure was a pitcher But no belly itcher With men on he even drove in a run He gave us five innings And we should have been winning Crying the bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow The bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow His lead, well, we blew it, and that's all there is to it But we've not seen the end of sweet Tommy Milone He'll give us more innings And maybe some winning Crying the bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow The bullpen and fielding, oh how they blow
  8. No loss this cockpunchy has only one cause. Boo, Wilmer. Boo, missed opportunities. But, boo, Terry, too. I can usually find some convoluted argument to support Terry's moves, but there was no line of thinking - traditional, sabermetric, sentimental, you name it - that justified bringing in Familia last night. He didn't need the work. The Giants are a bad offensive team other than Posey and maybe Panik. Montero could have held the lead yesterday. My niece could have held the lead yesterday, and not only is she fifteen years old, she's a position player. And, based on Howie's call (I didn't actually see the game, since I'm in the MLB.tv blackout area this week) it sounded like Familia was gassed. I guess there's an argument that closers should be able to pitch effectively three days in a row since they're only asked to throw 15-20 pitches every few games, but that just ain't how things are today. With a rested Familia today, we would have had a much better shot at winning.
  9. I've never been a FIRE TERRY guy, but the bullpen management has been stoopid lately.
  10. Edgy MD wrote: What's a-goin' on? Game has froze up on me. I'm listening on the radio, but according to Howie, Flores fumbled a double-play ball. First and second, one out, Pence up.
  11. I'm beginning to panik.
  12. After a nice hot streak, Reyes has gone 0 for his last 7 and is back on I-88, which is the fastest way to get to Binghamton.
  13. SteveJRogers wrote: Are you sure its not Cleveland? WELL, EFF YOU, TOO. I didn't see the point of suspending him. If he's done something severe enough to warrant public humiliation and depriving the team of his pitching skills (no, he doesn't have many, but on his worst day he's better than Adam Wilk), then just send him to Vegas for 10 days and open up a roster spot. He might enjoy Vegas too much, but it's a great city for deflating pitchers' egos when they need deflating. Edgy MD wrote: Trying to guess how much of yesterday's fiasco was demoralization. It would have been nice for a few of the batsmen to turn to each other and say, "This Wilk guy has been thrown in the deep end. Let's get together and bail him out." They've been busy bailing out Gsellman, Montero, Wheeler, Harvey, and even DeGrom lately. I'll give them a pass.

  15. Since the start of this thread, Granderson has reached base in 6 of 12 plate appearances, with 1 home run and 3 RBIs.
  16. That was a tough play. I'd call it a legit double. And Freddie Fkn Freeman's average against the Mets remains 1.000 with runners in scoring position.
  17. Walker, Granderson, Reyes, and Rivera reaching base consecutively. Who would've thunk?
  18. For all of our starting pitching worries, it looks like not trying to re-sign Colon was still a smart move.
  19. ...and Walker channels Murph and runs us out of an inning.
  20. This thread needs a bump. I'm going back to Jersey for a few days and thinking about a ticket to one of the games against SF this Monday-Wednesday. Pepsi Porch (or whatever it is now) tickets are going for less than $20. Anyone going to any of those games?
  21. It's May now, Curtis. You can start hitting anytime you'd like.
  22. Fortunately, Lagares brought his arm. I wasn't watching for an inning or two. Why is Plawecki catching now?
  23. And they get one! Sherlock being conservative tonight.
