1. Bill Terry Blocker is not on the list yet.
2. Edgy MD wrote: Twice tonight I've watched a Wheeler plate-appearance and thought I was watching McNeil. And I thought it was only me who couldn't tell them apart.
3. D-U-M dumb as the DH may be, it's nice to see Smitty at 1B, where he belongs. Without looking too closely at the MFY lineup because it hurts my eyes, I suspect that playing with a DH helps us more than them.
4. Cheezus. Three batters, three runs.
5. It's the Tomas Nido game!
6. I'm not saying he's good and I'm not saying he's bad. But 4 and 5 out saves still aren't the norm. I don't think Dusty or Girardi or Showalter would be thinking too far out of the box either.
7. Kudos to Matzy for not doing his Niese act when the going gets tough.
8. =G-Fafif post_id=10897 time=1558622151 user_id=55] First time Davis has started in left field for the Mets since September 30, 1967, though I imagine Tommy didn't have any Uber tales to tell at the time.
9. The Glavine game has to be way up near the top (eponymous doesn't always mean good). And I see your Wilpon and raise you one de Roulet.
10. Matz is back! Maybe that's good news!!! Maybe the Marlins got their win against the Mets for the season out of the way yesterday!!! Maybe, just maybe, we'll find better things.
11. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: PH for Broxy?? I think we were out of OFs if the game went into extras. But I was thinking I'd rather see Noah batting than Brox.
12. Weird that Alonso didn't PH against the lefty, but Ramos and Laggy did.
13. Edgy MD wrote: Right now it looks like it's going to take a geological or epidemiological event for Keon Broxton to crack a lineup. One geological event, one epidemiological event coming right up!
14. Ours hasn't been looking bad lately.
15. Sux to see anyone get injured, but the Mets catch a break here with the Nats bullpen now needing to somehow get 23 outs.
16. Sure is an interesting start. Alonso doesn't ordinarily make that play. And it's nice to see Noah not give back those runs. Nothing else going on that I can think of.
17. Were we clamoring for Castro to get more starts? It's frustrating that we fell a game short that year and gave three times as many PA to a guy with an OPS 200 points lower. I think the rap on Castro was that he didn't have the "motivation" to be a starter, and he seemed to suck the few times he was pressed into action on an everyday basis. I have no idea where that came from, but it's somewhere in my memory bank. May have been a WWSB comment.
18. I predict that sometime this season, his ERA+ will be higher than his OPS+. But it hasn't happened yet.
19. Well, I'm probably overpaid for what I do, I'm too old to be a major leaguer, and I have shoulder issues.
20. My last name is often mispronounced as an ethnic slur. I really appreciate it when people ask rather than getting it wrong.
