  1. Starting back up at midnight. Anyone else here? Bueller? Bueller?
  2. I have a good feeling about this Magadan kid. I think he's going to be a star in NY for a long time...win a few batting titles...in a few years, we'll all have forgotten Keith Hernandez. You heard it here first.
  3. Radar makes it seem like the rain will end tonight, but I don't know how long they'll wait. It also indicates that the hardest rain is still to come.
  4. SNY playing the clincher from '86 again. I think I know this game by heart. McCarver explaining to us what an "oxy-mah-ran" is.
  5. My first IGT of the year...might as well give it a shot right? (If this was supposed to be started by someone else, feel free to delete this one) I realize I'm tempting the fates with this "NLCS Preview" business, but I realized that after Lima's first start in that Braves game, I've been resorting to lucky positions on the volume dial, sitting in certain ways, trying to help the Mets win. In other words, the more superstitious I've been, the more they lose. So, in an attempt to help the Mets win, I've decided to be less superstitious. Glavine, 2 hits, 0 ER over 7 tonight. Mets win going away.
  6. It seems like every other game in St. Louis ends in a Jim Edmonds walk-off HR. I hope to avoid that today.
  7. This game hurt. Now I'm going to be in a pissy mood until Tuesday night.
  8. Why is Floyd getting 2 days off in a row? Jose Valentin? For real?
  9. What Rotblatt said.
  10. I think this game is over.
  11. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think the pink bats are bit too much. If they want to do ribbons, or patches, or hell, even pink hats, I think I'd be ok. But to me, extending it to the actual equipment is going too far. No pink bats, no pink balls, no pink gloves. And I realize it's for a good cause (if it wasn't I would be up in arms) and so it's not really a big deal. But I just don't see why you have to mess with the equipment. You could still sign and sell and donate to charity without the items being pink. Hell, I would pay more for a brown or black bat than a pink one anyway. "i just bought Beltran's bat in an auction." "Which one, the pink one?" "Yeah." "Dude, that's the wussiest looking bat I've ever seen."
  12. I don't get what Willie is thinking sometimes. Maybe he thinks the worst hitter in the lineup is supposed to hit #2. (I'm not implying that Floyd is the worst hitter in the lineup, but he's still on the interstate, and the choice to put him at #2 is puzzling.)
  13. Did anyone hear Crystal interviewed at the Clips game? He was talking about how it's fun to root for an underdog. Are we just supposed to pretend he's not an MFY fan?

  15. Starting IGT's, like the save rule, should take into account degree of difficulty. It's one thing to get fat on Florida/Nationals games. It's another to start a St. Louis IGT.
  16. I love this forum. Because despite spending hours watching the games, reading about the team, and surfing the net talking about the Mets, there will be a quiz like that where I don't know a single answer making me feel like I'm not one of those people who are way too into baseball.
  17. Nymr83 wrote: i think after a loss we should just let whoever wants to start it (and has something to say other than "woohoo i started it") do so. i like the idea of staying with the same person after a win though. I like NewYorkMayoR's idea. A loss wipes the slate clean and it's anyone's game.
  18. Glavine 3 Lo Duca 2 Beltran 2 Delgado 1 Reyes 1 Matsui 1
  19. I'm confused. So two weeks from now, when the winning streak is over, does that mean Rockin Doc has to start the next IGT?
  20. The term "out" has also taken on a second meaning in this thread.
  21. Yancy is right. That's why you say "Beltran reached on a fielder's choice." He doesn't get credit for a hit because an out was recorded, but he certainly did reach base.
  22. Actually I was ok in the field. Hitting the ball was another story. Which is I why I golf now. Now that the ball is stationary, I almost never strike out anymore.
  23. cooby wrote: Yeah, I agree with that. When they hit 11 or 12 though, they should be fielding cleanly, or no longer playing. Sounds harsh I know. I'm glad cooby never came to my Little League games.
  24. soupcan wrote: I took the scorecards from the first games my kids attended, put the ticket stubs and a picture of them at that game on a board, had them mounted and framed. The kids like them but I like them better. What a great idea. I'm going to steal it from you and pretend I came up with it.
