  1. You're welcome...all of you...it was nothing really.
  2. I see. It looks just like this: Which looks very similar to this:
  3. Cliff Floyd after the game: You gotta give credit to the St. Louis Cardinals for beating a great team, and I look forward to this team getting, not a lot better, but a little better over the winter and come spring training well be set Hopefully Im a New York Met. [My goal] is to be healthy and prove to these guys that I can play left field - and if I do that, I would love to come back and play in front of some great fans and a great city. In his blog: I want to be a part of this team next year. It's been frustrating, because I know what I have to offer and I know what I can bring to this team. These guys have been incredible this year, not only on the field but in here, hanging out. It's been the best team I've ever been a part of I know it's a business and I know that part of it. But I'm going to give them something to think about and get healthy so they can have Cliff in mind when they decide on a team for next year. I'm going to work hard to do so, I know that. So keep pulling for ol' Cliff. I'll be back. With his surgery, there's no reason to think Cliff couldn't have a season like '05, and after this year, he may come as a bargain. The only options that would give us more production than Cliff would be Carlos Lee and Alfonso Soriano, both of whom would be far more expensive. Besides, Soriano at 2nd base might be a better fit for this team anyway. (Ideally, I'd re-sign Cliff, sign Soriano for 2B, start Green in RF, and trade Milledge for pitching) His salary was only $6.5 million this year so I think you certainly offer him arbitration.
  4. I did a 180 on Willie this postseason too. The only time I questioned him was his decision to start Perez over Trachsel and we all saw how that one panned out. I also like that he had the big balls to tell reporters "You guys are going to have plenty of chances to second guess me, I'm going on gut." Gutsy to start Perez, then leave him in to face Rolen. Gutsy to pinch hit Floyd and go for it all. From now on, he's Wild Willie Big Balls.
  5. I'll watch. But I certainly won't go out of my way to do so. I'll be rooting for the Cardinals too. I'd like to see the National League put a stop to this "inferior" crap. Has anyone noticed that in the ad where the Indians fans come out of the cabinets, one of them appears to be wearing a Cincinnati Reds cap?
  6. We're gonna fucking win! Let's go Mets! Fuck yeah!
  7. Me yesterday: 8 p.m. "None of this lucky shit works. I'm just going to watch the game." 11:30 p.m. "It must be because I didn't use any of my lucky stuff. Maybe it's actually unlucky stuff. Or maybe they win when I'm not being superstitious. Ok, for Game 7, I have to make sure to not be superstitious."
  8. I don't have Insider. I was hoping you did.
  9. For those with ESPN Insider, Rob Neyer has an article calling Perez the worst Game 7 starter ever.
  10. I agree with Yancy and marathon.
  11. Johnny Dickshot wrote: What can stop that and make us all breathe a lot easier is a strong offense and tight tight tight tight defense. Can't wait. I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that I am not going to feel clam all night.
  12. We're gonna fucking lose. Suppan has been lights out the second half and is a big-game pitcher. He beat Asshead in Game 7 in 2004 and he should have no problem beating Oliver Perez.
  13. We're gonna fucking win. Suppan doesn't survive the first. Mets pitchers go on cruise control after the Mets reach double digits in the third inning.
  14. Is Krusty here yet?
  15. I think starting Oliver Perez is a big mistake. Not only is he susceptible to walks, he's susceptible to the long ball. Going down 2 or 3 runs early may be too much tonight. As much as I don't like him, I think Trachsel is your best option tonight, on a short leash with Darren Oliver warm and ready. Next out of the pen should be Tom Glavine.
  16. We're gonna fucking lose. If we don't get to Carpenter in the first tonight, it's just a matter of time before Maine gets unraveled. Early deficit, Cards tack on through the middle innings and win going away. At least we can save ourselves the indignity of watching Trachsel piss away our season tomorrow.
  17. We're gonna fucking win. They're gonna give Carpenter a beat-down tonight...Maine will only need to be adequate to get us a win. Tomorrow, Steve Trachsel will start and give us the pitching performance of his lifetime. Complete game 2-hitter, retiring the last 21 batters he faces.
  18. That was really really good.
  19. soupcan wrote:="Edgy DC"]Bullshit. You see Hillary Swank, you praise her for taking on the noble but hopeless task of trying to get the Karate Kid franchise off of life support.Let me tell you something - that smile of hers was such a dazzler I was lucky I said anything before she flashed it. Had she hit me with it first I would have simply drooled and babbled.soupcan is in the zone lately. He's like Derek Jeter, he saves his best for October.
  20. Was he really booed?
  21. Not facial-hair related, but along the same lines... My surround-sound receiver broke down around the time Duaner was getting into a cab in Atlanta. I brought it in to be fixed and it took a really really long time. Ever since then, I haven't watched any games in HD. Since then, we lost Duaner, traded Nady, lost Pedro, lost El Duque and Cliff got hurt. Plus we lost Games 2 and 3 of the NLCS. On Sunday, I hooked up the replacement receiver the company provided for me when they couldn't fix my old one. Mets have not lost since. You guys can do what you want with facial hair. Now that I am back to watching games in HD, we cannot lose.
  22. Some thoughts regarding Oliver Perez...Joe Buck and company, as Perez was working through the 6th, made it seem like he came up big, or at least, turned in an acceptable performance. 5 runs, 5.2 innings, that's not very good. The best thing he did was not suck until the Mets had scored a ton of runs. Perez seemed pretty upbeat about his performance too. I'm hoping in the future he will not be as satisfied as he was last night with that kind of line.
  23. We got Chris Carpenter? Awesome. Omar rocks.
