  1. I was thinking about Dillon Gee. I wonder what he was doing while the Mets were celebrating in Cincinnati. Was he watching and feeling slighted? Was he happy for his teammates? I wonder what he must have said to piss off Sandy so much that he wouldn't call him up in September. I still think Dillon could have been really helpful had the games in September gone in a different direction. He might have even become the 7th inning guy. When the Mets win it all, does he get a World Series ring? I was also thinking about guys like Wheeler and Edgin and Montero. I wonder if they cracked open some bubbly wherever they are.
  2. I didn't realize his second marriage was kaput. Nice to hear Keith is happy.
  3. CUT IT OUT ED. MATT WILLIAMS IS A GREAT MANAGER. SAY IT WITH ME.
  4. Bryce Harper should be running out ground balls. Any veteran/coach/manager is perfectly ok to point this out and call him on it. The timing on this one is obviously not great, since, as FK pointed out, even if it was dropped you're not going for 2nd base there anyway. Papelbon is a dick. It's well documented that he's a dick. His teammates hate him and I have seen enough quotes to understand why. His underlying message might be right, but that's what happens when you're a dick. Even when you're right, you're wrong. He was also wrong, obviously, to go after him in public, then to attack him physically. I have no idea what Harper is like as a person. Certainly he seems arrogant and dislikeable, but I've never heard him blame his teammates, or disparage anyone. Maybe he's a great guy. Who knows. It would be interesting to see who the other Nationals side with. The only thing that disappoints me is that this might ensure that Matt Williams will not be back next year. I think this is not fair. Williams is clearly the man for the job and should be given another chance to right this ship. In fact, ten more chances. Sign Williams to a 10 year extension NOW!!!!
  5. Sorry. I meant who is the Met dressed as Shazam?
  6. Who is Shazam? They made Conforto an Ewok. Lololol.
  7. I wish we could just stay in Cincinnati. They'd have the best record in the majors.

  10. Adam Dunn?
  11. I am on record being happy with a 7 game lead on Monday morning. 7.5 games Friday morning is much better.
  12. This game I like very much.
  13. As meaningful as catcher ERA. It's just stupid.
  14. Books! Winning. It's better than losing.
  15. I was thinking about this. Currently you have the games remaining at 23. But that is technically not correct. There are actually only 20 games left, since the Mets and Nats finish against each other. Up until then each night presents 2 opportunities for the Magic Number to drop, but after that there is only 1 chance. But then each of those games is more important since it has double the impact of any one game. For instance, if our magic number was 2, and the Mets and Nats were not facing each other, we would need 2 happy outcomes. When they face each other, we only need one happy outcome, but the outcome is guaranteed to be doubly happy. I'm not sure how that could be incorporated into the NHOP. I think the way you currently have it is the closest we can get.
  16. Beck Wheeler is a good baseball name.
  17. Poor Michael Conforto. He will have to spend his whole career in the shadow of Jorge Toca.
  18. KILL KILL KILL! (sounds much better than "Stop fucking around and win some fucking games you assholes."
  19. Just taking the Nats out of the equation. I want 8 in a row and if we clinch earlier, great. "I don't give a *$#%! what Washington is doing. We just have to win games." CF - 9.21.15 "But I wouldn't mind terribly if Washington went on a losing streak of their own."
  20. 10 games coming up against shitty teams. Stop fucking around. 8 in a row and put this damn thing to bed.
  21. I have my own personal NHOP chart! This is the best day ever!
