  1. That Torrens AB is the first good AB I’ve seen.
  2. Looks like another pathetic day for the offense. maybe we should try falling behind by 7
  3. Every AB results in a shallow fly ball.
  4. Btw. Insane that the Mets are being sent out west again, and this time without an off-day.
  5. Mets try to avoid the sweep. Morale low. Outlook dismal. Hope hangs by a string.
  6. One of the worst aspects of this team is how little fight they have after falling behind.
  7. I’ll start one after the next loss. So, tomorrow.
  8. Did you guys hear Mendoza justify Lindor’s baserunning last night? That’s crazy to me. You can’t be erased from third like that. The way I understand it, on that ball you take a secondary lead but don’t break for home until the throw goes to second. It’s very unlikely that the SS would throw you out on a tag play at home. It’s unlikely he would even try. He has to come across the bag and completely turn his body to get anything on a throw home. A fast runner like Lindor scores easily. This is like the ridiculous send in the Pittsburgh game. Acknowledge the mistake so it doesn’t happen again. inexcusable.
  9. Five Mets regulars have an OPS in the .500s. Francisco Lindor .558 Bo Bichette .524 Marcus Semien .557 Brett Baty .599 Jorge Polanco .569 Carson Benge would love to be in the 500 club but would have to go on a hot streak to get there. (.422) Of the regulars, only Robert and Alvarez are hitting. Alvarez is batting 9th. Vientos, the other semi-regular that’s hitting, didn’t play last night. The Mets have a .665 OPS as a team, good for 20th in MLB. Yes, it’s early. You figure Lindor and Bichette will be fine. Soto will come back. But everyone else is a question mark. The guys who are struggling might improve, but it’s just as likely that the guys who are currently hitting will regress.
  10. This was still a winnable game. Mendoza has no feel for the pitching. Stayed with Senga too long. Pulled McLean too early. Hung Myers out to dry.
  11. Left hamstring tightness for Clay Holmes. Not great.
  12. What to even say. Another pathetic offensive showing.
  13. Opening day was 70 degrees. Since then all of our home games have been cold. Maybe our hitters don’t like the cold.
  14. Where to start. The Mets have a real outfielder but he was on the bench. Even guarding a slim lead in the late innings, when moving Baty to 1B and removing Vientos makes all the sense in the world. Because they’re playing short handed. they’re short handed because they signed a guy who’s always hurt and now he’s hurt. But you won’t IL him because the lineup is punch less without him. all this talk of better ABs and I haven’t seen shit.
  15. Astonishing how bad this lineup looks. Day in and day out.
  16. Not the main story tonight, but Luis Garcia needs to be DFAd tonight.
