  1. I'm guessing the bench was empty? Probably the last Met you want trying to score there
  2. Here are the starting pitchers we've faced since April 19: The good pitchers. I've listed their ERA, plus their rank in the NL. Some don't have enough starts to qualify, so I put where they would slot in. Basically, Yamamoto's the shittiest of them. And he's trending up after a rocky start. April 19. Yamamoto. 3.49 ERA (22nd) April 21. Glasnow. 2.72 ERA (9th) April 22. Winn. 3.18 ERA(14th) April 23. Webb. 2.98 ERA (12th) April 27. Gray 1.16 ERA (1st) April 28. Lynn 2.64 ERA (8th) April 29. Taillon 1.50 ERA (3rd) April 30. Assad 1.97 ERA(6th) May 1. Imanaga 0.98 ERA (1st) The bad pitchers. Unfortunately one of the bad pitchers shut us down. April 20 v. LA (Gavin Stone) April 24 v. SF (Bullpen Game) April 26. v. STL (Miles Mikolas) So basically in our last 12 games, we've faced a top flight starter in all games but 3. That's some bad luck.
  3. Maybe it's a scheduling quirk, but I feel like we've been facing a tough pitcher every game except that bullpen game against SF.

  5. Frayed Knot wrote: Yeah, Jorge made lot of good pitches and, really, the leadoff dubble was barely worse than a walk and to some extent troubled me less. Three run lead in the ninth, I'd prefer double over walk.
  6. I like him. Not convinced he's good. But I feel like this is the type of player we should all root for.
  7. So this team is just kinda mediocre. Offense sucks.
  8. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: What would be more fun to find out is who authorized that setup. At first it seemed like a park made for Reyes, instead it was a punishment for Wright https://metspolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/jeff-wilpon.jpg>
  9. The complete list. Some of these are impossible. But on the other hand, you guys guessed a few that I never would have thought would be guessed. 10. That's great news. I realize this ship has sailed but I still hate the advertising on the uniform.
  11. Houser's mainstream stats were bad. His peripherals were worse. Never understood the move. Hopefully this is his last start.
  12. Tough matchup. Hopefully the Cards forget how to hit again.
  13. Dammit. Was supposed to be in the vest thread. I'm such an old man.
  14. Ok. New plan. When the Astros start their fire sale, trade for him then sit him. Or let him make a start or two. As soon as he puts ours uniform back on he's bound to get hurt.
  15. Oh wait. The new number must have been 36. Was the old number 72?
  16. The question wasn't asked but for some odd reason I think it McMichael with a number in the 70s. Was he 72 when he came back?
  17. Let us know how he looks! I just saw a clip that says Drew Gilbert is out 4 more weeks. That's too bad. I thought he might have been one of our first callups this year.
  18. It's been some pretty terrible baseball. Granted they've faced three pretty good pitchers, but as Keith said, the lack of in game adjustment is infuriating. On both sides of the ball. Two days in a row, the lineup has been flailing at pitches low and out of the zone. For a while I thought they did a good job of letting the ball get deep and picking up the breaking stuff that drops out of the zone. Lately they're back to trying to pull and swinging over everything. Snell, even when he's good, doesn't go deep into games. Here's to hoping he sucks and the bullpen sucks even more. You gotta think their closer is not available today.
  19. A couple of clues. 4 western names remain. There is a Masahide. There's also this guy. Pitched 9 years on the bigs. Third all time in appearances for JBMLB. A little hurt we've forgotten him. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/licensed-image?q=tbn:ANd9GcRD2kkTZ4hFD5a-VKG0MXQLDQFdA9OIE23MtVrZqxLOfAyKY3Wzq6fMaibu6H81RRKJY2li_0NAWEr2F24>
  20. 25 JBMLB players left. You guys have already named a lot more than I would have ever gotten. You're still missing this guy. He's the one guy left I thought would have been named by now. https://dims.apnews.com/dims4/default/8b07dc3/2147483647/strip/true/crop/4067x2714+0+0/resize/599x400!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.apnews.com%2Fd6%2Faa%2Fd8f5224aac8d416d0c1a2848da04%2F2ad483f9c2d24e7288b4aa6cf4977dd2> He's one of two active players left. The other guy finished 6th in ROTY voting last year.
  21. Koji Uehara, former All-Star, is number 2 on the all time saves list for JBMLB. 1. Shogo Akiyama 2. Nori Aoki 3. 4. 5. Steve Chitren 6. Yu Darvish 7. Bobby Fenwick 8. 9. Shintaro Fujinami 10. Kosuke Fukudome 11. 12. Shigetoshi Hasegawa 13. 14. Craig House 15. Ryota Igarashi 16. Kei Igawa 17. Tadahito Iguchi 18. 19. Hideki Irabu 20. Kazuhisa Ishii 21. Hisashi Iwakuma 22. Kenta Maeta 35. 36. Hideki Matsui 37. Kazuo Matsui 38. 39. Daisuke Matsuzaka 40. 41. 42. Masanori Murakami 43. 44. Micheal Nakamura 45. Norihiro Nakamura 46. 47. Hideo Nomo 48. 49. Tomo Ohka 50. Shohei Ohtani 51. Hideki Okajima 52. Akinori Otsuka 53. 54. Dave Roberts 55. Takashi Saito 56. Kazuhiro Sasaki 57. 58. Kodai Senga 59. Tsuyoshi Shinjo 60. Ichiro Suzuki 61. Mac Suzuki 62. Seiya Suzuki 63. Kazuhito Tadano 64. So Taguchi 65. Hisanori Takahashi 66. Ken Takahashi 67. Shingo Takatsu 68. 69. Masahiro Tanaka 70. 71. 72. 73. Koji Uehara 74. 75. 76. Yasuhiko Yabuta 77. 78. Yoshinobu Yamamoto 79. 80. Masato Yoshii
  22. If nothing else, burning Doval here helps tomorrow with a 5 inning starter slated to pitch for SF.
  23. I think Keith just nailed it. This team makes no in game adjustments. Flailing at the change up all game long.
