  1. Schwellenbach dominated the Mets the Saturday after the Senga game. 7 IP, 0 ER, 11K. He's been much better in the second half than he was in the first half. Hopefully they get to him this time.
  2. Greg makes a great point. Vientos was definitely late covering the bag on that play in the 9th. If he's there in time, he can block that ball before hit hits the bag.
  3. The Diamondback will miss Blake Snell. He pitched a gem yesterday against KC. They'll face Logan Webb, but the other two starters are nothing special. If the Mets stumble against the Braves, they'll need the DBacks to lose next weekend against San Diego. Which means we need to make sure San Diego has something to play for, so let's hope they lose all 3 against the Dodgers this week.
  4. We hardly knew you: Players come and gone in 2024: Ty Adcock Paul Blackburn Matt Festa Grant Hartwig Tyler Jay Joey Lucchesi Dedniel Nunez Eric Orze Sean Reid-Foley Christian Scott Kodai Senga Cole Sulser Julio Teheran Josh Walker Joe Hudson Tomas Nido Pablo Reyes Ben Gamel 18 Additional players. It's hard to believe that Julio Teheran started a game for the 2024 Mets. Joe Hudson looks like he's a back up catcher. No memory of him whatsoever.
  5. New Additions: Position Players: Luis Torrens Luisangel Acuna Jose Iglesias Eddie Alvarez Mark Vientos Jesse Winker JD Martinez Starting Pitchers: David Peterson Relief Pitchers Huascar Brazoban Jose Butto Reed Garrett Phil Maton Ryan Stanek Alex Young Danny Young 15 new faces
  6. Versus the team that will take the field in Atlanta. Mets Opening Day Roster Position Players: Francisco Alvarez Omar Narvaez Pete Alonso Jeff McNeil Francisco Lindor Zack Short Brett Baty Joey Wendle Brandon Nimmo Starling Marte Harrison Bader Tyrone Taylor DJ Stewart Starting Pitchers: Luis Severino Sean Manaea Jose Quintana Tylor Megill Adrian Houser Bullpen: Edwin Diaz Brooks Raley Adam Ottavino Jake Diekman Drew Smith Michael Tonkin Yohan Ramirez Jorge Lopez Players in bold are the ones remaining. 7 out of 13 position players remain with the club. 4 out of 5 starting pitchers. Only 2 of the original 8 relievers remain from opening day. Overall, 13 of the original 26 are gone. Roster turnover of 50%. (Edited to remove Jeff McNeil, who I forgot was hurt)
  7. Wheeler versus Megill. With Megill looking shaky in the first. How on earth did they win this game.
  8. Same. Before I forget. What are the chances that ball hits the bag then bounces straight in front of it. I don't think I've ever seen that.
  9. I'm glad we won this game the way we've won all season. Great starting pitching and a dominant bullpen.
  10. What a job by Diaz. Great win. Beating Wheeler is no small feat. Wow.
  11. This is nerve wracking.
  12. I feel like Butto had another inning. Count me as 13. Let's see what happens.
  13. Six uncomfortable outs left.
  14. Six games left. 3-3 to finish under 40 wins.
  15. =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=171296 time=1727037113 user_id=119] The Detroit Tigers are now tied with the Royals for a wild card slot, with the Twins a half-game behind them. Keep in mind, the Tigers were sellers at the deadline.
  16. Atlanta wins. This game just got bigger.
  17. Brewers better suck this bad when we get there next weekend.
  18. Speaking of Fucking Toast. JD Martinez. By Month. April (only 17 AB) BA: 294 HR: 0 OPS: .647 May BA: .278 HR: 5 OPS: .828 June BA: .272 HR: 4 OPS: .874 July BA: .235 HR: 2 OPS: .684 August BA: .217 HR: 5 OPS: .729 September BA: .075 HR: 0 OPS: .278 Last 30 days BA: .147 HR: 2 OPS: .463 Inconceivable numbers for September. It's weeks of almost no production. Prolonged slump? Fucking Toast?
  19. His last outing was against us, and he shut us down. This is a rematch of Sunday. Hopefully getting another look at him in a week will make him easier to hit, but I guess the same can be said of Peterson. No Lindor again.
  20. Looks like the off day didn't help JD at all.
  21. Get him the fuck out of there.
  22. I don't know the last time I've seen a hitter as lost as JD. This is beyond a slump.
