  1. Trax did poop his pants, but in fairness, I don't think any Met pitcher was outpitching Suppan that night.
  2. Reyes Murph Wright Tejada Turner
  3. Cap's numbers are actually better than my gut would have told me. And I didn't realize how close Gee's and Niese's numbers really are. Dickey Capuano Niese Gee Pelf
  4. Duda Turner Gee Beato Pridie
  5. Amazing that the Mets went down in order 9 out of 12 innings and still won.
  6. How about #4 on that list?

She's making the Jeff Wilpon face.
  8. Edgy DC wrote: Sorry. Misread that boxscore. How does Garner go from batting third for a division champ in the post-season to getting pinch-hit for? Lanier going lefty/righty I guess. I think Walling and Garner platooned that series.
  9. Actually it wasn't three solo HRs. Ashby's was a 2-run shot, which makes the foul ball non-out even worse. That would have been the third out with no runs coming across that inning.
  10. But we couldn't replace Cliff Floyd in '06 after game 1. Yeah, I'm still bitter.
  11. Last year during a rain delay he came up and sat behind us in the promenade. He gave pins to both my kids. I had no idea he was the pin Santa Claus.

  13. One of Backman's fly balls to left--I think it was teh AB in the 6th, with Dykstra on first--was deep to the warning track that was tracked down by Jose Cruz. I remember thinking at the time that that may have been our one chance to get to Scott.
  14. This pitch tracker thing is awful. The graphic shows a different location from where the pitch actually went. Oh, yea, go Tiggers!
  15. They like their ex-players coming back into the dugout there, apparently. Ozzie, now Robin.
  16. Gwreck wrote: Who's on the far left in that photo? I asked the same question the last time someone posted this photo. It's Alex Gonzalez of Bartman game error fame.
  17. If the first name they offer back is Ty Wigginton, it's time for Sandy to loudly hang up the phone.
  18. So, Partial Ticket plan holders (of which I am one) will have access to ALL clubs? That is what Howard seems to be saying...although I can't see that in the Mets announcement. The announcement I thought only covered full-season plans?
  19. Why the hell, after a leadoff walk in the first, are the Tigers bunting? With Burnett on the mound, no less.
  20. Ceetar wrote: Excuse me while I go give Petco park the finger for not hosting a Mets @ San Diego NLDS while i'm here. Clearly it's the park's fault. Grab lunch at the Tin Fish down the block after you give the stadium the finger.
  21. As if Jimmy Rollins would ever be close to a batting title.
  22. attgig wrote: well, the 03 mariners were in first place on august 26 so, it was close to a month of playing behind. crazy that their playoff percentage would be that high in august though. Their biggest lead was 8 games--in June! They did lose 8 out of 9 in August that moved them from 4 up to 2 down in the division. Either way, that can't nearly be as devastating as what happened last night (or in '07, '95).
  23. I have ZERO recollection of a 2003 Mariners choke.
  24. sharpie wrote: Tigers, Brewers, Diamondbacks and Rays would be acceptable winners in my book. . Cardinals and Rangers would be acceptable only if they are oppposing the Yankees or Phillies. I get most of this, but why would the Rangers only be acceptable if going up against the Phillies?
  25. Having little ones the last few years--especially a now-eight-year-old who is cuckoo for baseball and the Mets--has actually made me watch more than I did before. Back to the 2011 Mets...Reyes' stretch before his first DL stint made the Mets absolute Must-See-TV. I don't think I followed a Met that closely--meaning, really, I have to get to a TV to see what Jose does next--since Doc's starts in 1985.
