  2. Sorry for the digression, but what was Black trying to do with his double switch that got him tossed?

  5. AG/DC wrote: Somebody remind me why we lifted Ramon Castro? Howie and Wayne said something about Castro looking "uncomfortable" in his first two at bats, but I didn't hear anything after that.
  6. Meanwhile, Fish lead the Phils 2-0 heading to tthe bottom of the 6th. Chris Volstad has given up 1 hit through 5, while the Marlins have scratched out a couple runs off Hamels.
  7. If they go 1-2-3, then leave Smith out there. If not, you either go Heilman or the rookie.
  8. Joe Smith showing some grapefruits.

  10. Acc. to Wayne and Howie, Giles has only 4 Shea RBI in his entire career. Let's not claim him.
  11. Oh, Damn. Enjoy another ND Johan.
  12. Not ready for Prime Time Evans drives in his second run, this on a SF. 3-1 Mets.
  13. Cancel singles and Banks is done. 1st and 3rd nobody out.
  14. Press notes say Clarence Irving for this afternoon's game. Who? This being Sesame Street Day at Shea I was sure we'd see Ernie, Elmo, and Big Bird out there.
  15. Martinez 2.75 Murphy 2.5 Feliciano .25 Schoenweis .5 Wright .25 Reyes .25
  16. 29 numbers left, but so many great Lincoln Mercury representatives still to choose from. Oh, what to do?
  17. Pelfrey 3.5 Tatis 3.75 Beltran .75 Smith .5 Schoeneweis .5 Feliciano .75
  18. Stupid question from someone who's been around three years: do you have to vote for every game, or can you vote in some/note vote in others? I want to participate. I feel like I'm missing the fun. Also, Maury Wills in that baseball card looks about 66 years old. Kind of like this guy:
  19. Would you believe Shea is the second best ballpark I've seen a game in? First would be Fenway, then Shea, then the quadrangle of suckitude: The Vet, the Big O, RFK, and Fulton County. I am going to the new Nationals Park next weekend. I am sure that will move up on my list.
  20. Am I being too hard to suggest that Wagner should have been on a flight yesterday to NY to get his MRI? And not wait until tomorrow so he could spend his scheduled off day with his family in Texas?
  21. One of these days the Nats might, I don't know, give at least a token effort against the Phils. Especially considering they play every Met game like it's a life and death struggle.
  22. soupcan wrote: Jon Heyman on FAN says Griffey, Jr. to the White Sox is a done deal. At around 8:20 in the car, I heard Heyman say to Boomer and Carton "No one is interested in Griffey." This guy's performance as an "FAN Baseball Insider" has been shaky at best.
  23. I liked A Prayer for Owen Meany. [Ducks]. About 15 years since I read it.
  24. Bring him back in that outfit to take down the number at Shea!
  25. What's RC27? If that's a stupid question, please forgive my ignorance.
