  1. .245-14-53 in a platoon role. Later
  2. I can't answer that without knowing which other players they would have acquired for the cost of those two. Later
  3. HEY! My kid, Trey Mclaughlin is not only still in camp, but closing games. He got his first save the other day. My daughter had dinner with his mother last night, and they both would be very mad at you if I told them you are ignoring him. He at least deserves a "Still in camp" mention. Later

  5. Until Alvarez returns, we'll be sweating every time Luis Torrens takes a foul tip off his hand. But should Reetz make it into a game, he will be productive (for a backup catcher): 22 G (not all starts) .225-2-10 Later
  6. WOW! those guys all made the majors. Good drafting. Rafael Montero is pitching in relief for Houston against the Mets tonight. Was Montero ever highly rated (Mets top 10) in those years? He's made a pretty long career for himself after coming back from injury. I hope Mauricio can do the same. Later
  7. In case you missed this, The Mets announced on Monday that the team had made several more cuts from its major league spring training roster, as the following players were reassigned to minor league camp: infielder Luis De Los Santos, left-handed pitcher Anthony Gose, infielder Joey Meneses, right-handed pitcher Sean Reid-Foley, and catcher Chris Williams. Looks like it will be between Reetz and Senger for the backup catcher spot. (Unless they bring in somebody else) Later
  8. In a right handed platoon with Siri, he'll hit for a higher average, but with fewer homers. Later
  9. They put Jackie Back. https://www.yahoo.com/news/jackie-robinsons-department-defense-profile-194349772.html?fr=sycsrp_catchallhttps://www.yahoo.com/news/jackie-robinsons-department-defense-profile-194349772.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall Later
  10. Edgy MD wrote: I will be kneeling through the National Anthem at any game I attend this year, and I hope you join me. It probably will go beyond this year. My wife and I have discussed this. We won't kneel, but we may not stand with hand over heart, either. We are not proud to be Americans if this is what being American means. Later
  11. In their effort to purge the military of any DEI references, they removed a picture of the Enola Gay plane and crew because, you know, it was gay. And they removed the web page of Ira Hayes, one of the five Marines who raised the flag in Iwo Jima because is a Native American Pima Indian. They have also called Gen. Colin Powell a "DEI hire". You can't make this shit up. Later
  12. 1. What will the Mets' record be? 82-80 2. Predict the NL East standings from 1 to 5: Phillies, Atlanta, Mets, Washington, Miami 3. Will the Mets make the playoffs (if so, as the division champ or 1st, 2nd, or 3rd WC)? 2nd WC 4. If so, how far will they go? Lose in the NLDS 5. Who will be the World Champion? Milwaukee Brewers 6. Number of regular season HRs for Pete Alonso: 34 7. Who will be on the cover of the 2025 winner of the Tabloid Cover Derby? Mark Vientos Later
  13. I'd probably have given him a chance over some of the guys they brought in to start. But when given the chance long term, he always seems to spit the bit. I'm not sure if, or when, he will get it together. He'll go 6-8 4.42 both starting and relieving. Later
  14. =Fman99 post_id=187374 time=1742214676 user_id=86] Seriously, what the hell kind of name is Framber anyway
  15. PSST, just between you and me, I think they make the load times so long so that we'll get frustrated and sign out before we can get to the Bitch to the Admin page and bitch about slow load times. Later
  16. While on one hand he can't hit for average, on the other hand he has no power. And for a middle infielder, he doesn't turn many double plays (around one per two games played) But I'll be rooting him on when I see Binghamton play early this year. Later
  17. The Mets split on the day, losing 2-0 to Tampa Bay and winning 6-5 over the fish. My kid, Trey McLaughlin got the save in the win. Later
  18. We think someone who does that is in need of a serious baseball fix. And we're right here with you. Later
  19. I had read that Jose Butto had soreness in his Achilles tendon, but it looks like he's ok. He pitched a scoreless inning today. Later
  20. Edgy MD wrote: We slept through it, but back on Thursday, the Cardinals swooped in and signed Phil Maton to a major-league contract. Fmann posted it on the 13th in the Former Mets, Current Situations thread. https://phpbb3.leaptoad.com/mets/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=34130https://phpbb3.leaptoad.com/mets/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=34130 8 is a lucky number in Chinese culture. 88 is even luckier. I wonder if Phil knew that when he got his number. Later
  21. He has one of the two hits the Mets have today (the game's in the 9th inning). Later
  22. Are you guys kidding? The team would be named the (Harry) Chiti's. Later
  23. The last two outs were K's by my kid Trey McLaughlin. I guess that goes as a GF. Later
  24. My crystal ball tells me he'll come back by opening day, and get injured again. Later
  25. And then he won Rookie of the Year award in Winter League batting .337/.419/.495. That's a .914 OPS (for those too lazy to do the math) and was 18 for 19 in SB. Those are real good numbers, no matter where he got them I think that indicates that those end of year numbers may be for real. He'll probably start the year in the minors, then get called up in June after McNeil gets injured (or is moved to the outfield) and Baty shows he can't turn a double play. .277-8-58 25 SB Later
