  1. Pick your poison time. two on and LaRoche and Desmond coming up. And I don't mean Nora Desmond. Later

So I didn't. But man, that MF gets those hits at very bad times. And they generally go a long distance. Oh, in case it wasn't strong enough. I hat that guy. Later
  3. The reaction reminds me of when SF waived a pitcher named John Pregenzer. The waiver claim price at the time was $100. SF fans got outraged that a person should only be valued at $100. So they started a "Make this World a Better Place for John Pregenzer to Pitch In" fan club. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Pregenzer Later
  4. Edgy MD wrote: The problem with Niese over Gee is a tough track record with regards to healthy healthiness. Intercostal strains. Partially torn rotator cuffs. These things don't tend to work themselves out. With Niese, I'm not sure his problem is injuries to his arm, something in his gut, or a lack of something lower than that. Unlike the title of another thread, I'm not sure his cup runneth over. But when I see his name listed as the day's starting pitcher, I have no confidence the Mets can, or will, win that day. As Jim Brosnan once wrote about another pitcher, "He is just good enough to lose with". I don't get that same feeling, I feel more confident, when I see some of the other names mentioned in this thread. If he were to pitch just a little better and regain some of his value, he'd be the one I'd try to deal. Later
  5. Zvon wrote: Good game! Big win. Crazy line for Wheeler. He's gotta stop dickin' around off the plate. It's fun to watch him work out of jams but any more than 2 times per game is bad for my health. Just readin' this thread at work, it seemed like he threw more pitches than Ron Popeil. Later
  6. Frayed Knot wrote: Well if I think that the puppet/wife is hot, does that make me weird? I thought it was just me. Yeah, the voice is great. But, there's something in the way she moves ... Later
  7. Frayed Knot wrote: NL West: Giants over Dodgers I'm rooting for Sharknado III to hit the field during warmups. Later
  8. Sounds like TFT opened and sampled from a few of the bottles of the "good stuff" before that interview. I can't imagine any athlete who was as competitive as he was would say, "Sure, I want somebody else to beat my (entry percentage) record". Later
  9. The shift will be declared illegal the first time it deprives Jeter of a hit. (It will have everyone shifted to within 40 feet of second base) Later
  10. MFYs purchase old pal Chris Capuano. This could have been in the Dynasty Crumbles or Continuing Careers of ex-Mets threads, too. Later
  11. Lucroy was an All Star on merit. Later
  12. Edgy MD wrote: Chuck Knoblauch busted for allegedly beating up his ex-wife. His induction into the Twins Hall of Fame has been "cancelled" --- which is a notably different word than "suspended" or "delayed, pending the outcome of this matter." Are they sure he was aiming at her? Later.
  13. Dave Sims @TheDaveSimsShow Kendrys Morales obtained from Minnesota for reliever Stephen Pryor. Expected in Seattle Friday. Later
  14. Flores played a full game for Las Vegas last night, so it looks like Tejada wasn't too seriously injured. But you can't be too careful with concussions. I wonder if they'll send him for tests. Later
  15. Frayed Knot wrote: Take two Kim Novaks and call me in the morning. TWO Kim Novaks? The call might have to wait until the afternoon. Later
  16. 3 hits with another homer and 3 RBI last night. He's hitting .325. Later
  17. Rubin is reporting that Kevin has missed recent games because of a case of vertigo. No treatment, just rest. Later
  18. HahnSolo wrote: I'd go with expanding the rotation That's the option I was looking for. And, yes, he has already had TJ surgery. Later
  19. He deserves his own thread because he has earned it. Later
  20. Fman99 wrote: I'll say it, also. Starbucks coffee tastes like it was first run through a homeless man's ass crack. Just got home from work, So I wish I could have commented before the game started. You know I'm your biggest fan, but, how do you know it does? Just askin'. Later
  21. He's going right after the Mets lineup. 39 pitches in 3 innings. I guess Tyson isn't chicken. (ducking) Later
  22. Never heard of Tremors either. Really? A very funny send-up of monster movies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremors_(film) Gets you one degree closer to Kevin Bacon. Back to the game. Later
  23. Fixed. And the game before the 5 for 5, he had a 2 HR game. So now he's hitting .313/.365/.507 for an .872 OPS. Later
  24. Mets fans held hostage: Day Four Expected release: T-minus 36 hours. Looking for something to do? Well, the AMC Network is running a Tremors marathon. Yesiree. All 4 of them. (If you knew there were 4 of them, raise your hand.) Later
  25. When I was a kid, I liked to draw baseball stadia. What you did was really impressive. Later
