  1. =bmfc1 post_id=4515 time=1552993526 user_id=73] I was looking forward to seeing him throwing the heat in spring training. Hopefully, he will in 2020 and beyond.
  2. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Fuckyouyankeebluejeans sign Gio Gonzalez to a minor league deal That's going to tick off Joe Beningo. He was saying to day that Gio was scheduled to be interviewed on tomorrow's (Tuesday's) WFAN show about why he hasn't signed with any team yet, but it would "mess everything up if he signs today". I'm already laughing at what he'll be saying tomorrow. Later
  3. Lefties "get better with age and don't really know how to pitch until their mid 20's". Where I first heard that, I don't know, but I've heard it repeated often. Kay will start to get really good this year, maybe not up to the majors, but darn close. Later
  4. Frayed Knot wrote: In the spirit of 'Hey Nineteen', Dilson is a fine Colombian. Too much of that stuff can get you arrested. Later
  5. Tears it up at AAA and gets traded in a midyear blockbuster that brings the final pennant-winning pieces the Mets need at that time. Later
  6. They've made a decision not to pitch Noah or Jake against NL East teams this spring. I'm not sure whether I like this approach. It may be good for their egos, but some of the games have looked like batting practice for the opponents. I don't want to get those guys feeling confident when they walk up to the plate to face a pitcher wearing a Mets uniform. As Yogi said, "Half this game is 90% mental". Later

What a shame. Later
  8. You're right. I should have XXXXX-ed out his name. I have been duly chastised. I won't let it happen again. (sm-87) I really did dislike him. Later
  9. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Whitey Herzog reportedly said he alone was too much to give up for Fregosi, much less Ryan So did I. I felt that so strongly that I still refuse to utter (or type) the name of that washed up POS infielder the Mets received in that deal. RIP. Later
  10. If I were sitting there, I wouldn't care whether I made the Mets or not. And he shouldn't care either. Because he won't. Later
  11. =41Forever post_id=4213 time=1552434551 user_id=69] Best. Hey Nineteen. Ever.
  12. Mid season form. They only scored one run in a deGrom start. Later
  13. Holy Ivan Drago, Batman. Alonso crushes opponents like he crushes baseballs. So, Luis Avilán and Jacob Rhame gave up the runs. As Stormy Daniels said about Donald Trump, "no big thing". Later
  14. Was Angel Hernandez umpiring a college game? Later
  15. Adam Jones $3 million with the Snakes. https://sports.yahoo.com/ap-source-adam-jones-agrees-1-deal-d-014611389--mlb.htmlhttps://sports.yahoo.com/ap-source-adam-jones-agrees-1-deal-d-014611389--mlb.html Grrrr. He was worth a shot. Later
  16. Prospects. They have to backfill the holes created in the top 10 in the Diaz trade, especially position players. I just hope Travis delays his regularly scheduled trip to the DL list until he is dealt. Later
  17. I have more confidence in him being the right handed hitting outfielder than the other three guys if one of them has to play substantial innings this year. As someone who could play center for more than a few innings, not so much. But I think he'll make the team out of ST and play in 70 games, with 200 AB and a .245-7-27 (traditional stat) line. Later
  18. Edgy MD wrote: Just paperwork. But the team may be able to keep him on a minor league salary by working the loopholes. Which, you know, sucks ten ways to Sunday. Yep. A brilliant way to work up his enthusiasm for his new organization. Sigh. Later
  19. Was Kilome even in camp at all? I thought he had TJ surgery at the end of last year. Or was this just a book transfer? Later
  20. Managers would send out their Transformers to argue with the electronic umpire while the PA system plays the theme from The Jetsons. And Angel Hernandez will file another lawsuit against MLB because he feels targeted. I can see it now. I gotta' check my meds. Later
  21. Both he and Luis Guillorme bat lefthanded which isn't too common for shortstops. (And before some wiseass says it, lefty throwing shortstops are much rarer.) But while Luis hit over .300 VS lefty pitching, Andres hit under .200 at a lower level. Not sure of the sample size, but that is something to watch as Andres progresses. Later
  22. Welcome to the bigs, kid. Later
  23. I think the number of games he starts will be inversely proportional to the success of the Mets. I hope we'll just see him as a pinch hitter and late inning defender. Later
  24. I'm going to like (the more traditional story) Shazam movie better. But she can do anything she likes to me to make me change my mind. And I'll give her as much time as she wants to do it, too. Later
  25. Crap! I hope he makes it back as a DH (gasp) somewhere. Later
