1. Rain delay. Could be much ... Later
2. A Boy Named Seo wrote: I feel like I'm the only one beating this drum, but MLB needs the equivalent of an MLS Supporters Shield now, a big shiny piece of metal given to the team with the best regular season record. At some point, maybe winning the regular season will hold more significance more than the tournament at the end. The marathon and the sprint are different types of races. The Olympics awards medals for both. Why shouldn't there be awards for winners of both the regular season and world series? Makes sense. Later
3. I picked the Padres because Pete Rose was never a San Diego Padre. Later
4. My playoff pain doesn't hurt so much after LA lost. Later
5. If you pass by a Dunkin Donuts in Brooklyn, you might hear the Munchkins singing: DING DONG THE BI**H IS DEAD I am. And I'm not a Munchkin. Later
6. Realmuto had 21 SB and was caught only once this year. And he hit 5 triples. So the fact that he hit an inside the park homer isn't a super shocker to me. Keep it going, Phillies. Later
7. Willets Point wrote: You just couldn't say those things too loud or you might end up with a highway routed through your house. It didn't help to work for him. The house where my aunt lived was torn down to build the Clearview Expressway. Later
8. Willets Point wrote: My grandfather, a NYC employee, had unpleasant things to say about Robert Moses. My aunt worked for him in the office of the NY World's Fair and had the same opinion. Later
9. The Hot Corner wrote: Many people, Keith Hernandez included, felt that Mike Scott was scuffing and doctoring balls, rather than actually throwing a splitter. I was one of those many people. I thought splitter should have been spelled without the 'l". Later
10. THEEEEEEE Yankees LOOOOSE! Celebration ensues. Later
11. Giminez and Rosario have driven in the runs for Cleveland. Later
12. =G-Fafif post_id=111241 time=1665719777 user_id=55] Denny Doyle. Clay Dalrymple. Ray Ripplemeyer. Marlon Byrd. Mike Ryan. Some names are extremely Phillie. The most Phillie of them have a “y” within them if not at their beginning or end.
13. Edgy MD wrote: Hrabosky was definitely of the first generation of juiced-up showmen and muscling-up fireballers. First for me, anyhow. I'm sure there are precedents. Smith better fit the mold of the hyped-up intimidator, When I think of fireballers who were intimidators, I remember Ryne Duren. He had thick glasses, threw hard and was wild enough to keep batters from feeling comfortable in the batters box. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/d/durenry01.shtmlhttps://www.baseball-reference.com/players/d/durenry01.shtml I consider him the first of that breed. 14. The starter for the Cubs that day was the only player (other than the washed up infielder we got for Nolan Ryan) whose name I refuse to say or type. This game was an example why. Even when the Mets scored off him, his team always seemed (my perception)to score enough to prevent him from taking the loss. And he always left the mound with a (my perception) smirk on his face. Anyhow, RIP Bruce Sutter Later
15. Jake Reed was claimed off waivers by the Boston Red Sox. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/red-soxs-jake-reed-claimed-by-boston/https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/red-soxs-jake-reed-claimed-by-boston/ Later
16. =G-Fafif post_id=111243 time=1665723551 user_id=55] No wonder they're big in King of Prussia.
17. I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame. Later
18. Whoever helped me post that, thank you. Later
19. If the delay lasts a few hours, maybe I can still make it to the game via train: Later
20. They'll build that one right after they build the football stadium on the west side of Manhattan. Later
21. Ex-Mets minor leaguer Pedro Grifol is interviewing for the Marlins' manager position. 22. But I have all those unused SAS airline miles. Now I'll have to take my wife somewhere. Later
23. Great work. Thanks. When is the awards ceremony? Later
24. Tequila over lousy over-priced coffee. Every day of the week. Later
25. If the third option is a meteor strike I'll pick that one. But since it said not to click there, I went with the Pfightin' Phills. Later
