1. Gary is right about the superiority of bone-in chops.
2. You know that's probably a good guess
3. I got a call from the Mets the other day and the guy told me 2 pm. It might only be to exchange the tickets if you've already bought them, as we had
4. I'm not really a big gary Apple guy, and that's oddly edited but that was fun too
5. Shoving his acuistion up Washington's ass was one of my favorite pleasures of 2015. But that was a long time ago.
6. Heads up. Mets ticks for rejiggered, reduced capacity games in may are on sale now. Tuesday Night Club replenished its games vs. Baltimore 5/11 and the Rockies 5/25
7. Yeah it's the least we can do. I'm wearing a gaiter doo-rag style. Conforto on 3 pitches
8. Yeah I whack Chili whether it's his fault or not. At the very least double secret probation
9. =bmfc1 post_id=62353 time=1619629783 user_id=73] The game is starting early because of the State of the Union address.
10. Thoughts on the Game!! --Entry was easy (small crowd, less up your ass on the test results than I thought) --The zip-tied seats thing worked--nobody came and sat where they didn't belong) --Citi Field as usual didn't disappoint with how cold it was. Temp wise, it wasn't bad or "windy" -- but breezy and damp and it just finds you. Put up your hood and it gets your hands. Put on gloves and then the gap between pant cuffs and shoes feel it. It's evil. Once we got back to to street level, pretty much fine. --Stayed in the 300 section the whole game (left field corner next to the restaurant), didn't venture. Beer incredibly disappointing (coors light!) and a hot dog. That's it. --Nobody came even close to hitting us a foul ball. --Had a good view on why McCann was a moron trying to stretch that single. The Mets are just dumb. --Feel like we should have lost by more, Peterson struggled pretty well but the bullet DPs obviously helped. --Did any Met get ahead in the count on any at-bat at any time last night? Sure didn't seem like it. Lindor didn't deserve a hit. --I was kinda disappointed that Cohen & Co hadn't done anything to improve between-innings entertainment, in a lot of ways it got worse not that it was good to begin with, but they "virtualize" the contests: This kid is going against a film of the strongman! The "first pitch" is now done on the kids field (that's OK by me). "Piano man" (ugh!) --Didn't help that our seats were directly below a speaker (which piped crowd noise the whole time) --McNeil needs to ditch Pyromania. Was tired of that 2 years ago --7-train postgame Super Express lives--great. But for some reason they funneled all the departing fans through the Roosevelt steps & side turnstiles and not the big stairs from the park. If capacity goes up any more that'll get ugly as there's too few turnstiles --If it hadn't snowed in Denver we'd have gotten deGrom, so I suppose it could have been more disappointing --new PA announcer (I think). Tries to be exciting, but isn't yet
11. I was cold and felt like a bad dad for doing that
12. The Diaz fanfare is pretty exciting.
13. They were like the Mets a little bit last year in just badly underperforming. They have some good ballplayers but didn't succeed. Starting pitching is an underlying concern. Tonight's starter, Garrett Richards, really needs to sing for his supper. He's one of those lanky guys who gets mechanically screwed up. Red Sox lead the league in Franchyness.
14. I don't even understand the "pod" idea but I guess I'll figure it out tomorrow. This btw is Very Special Tuesday night gathering as well be joined by the Lunchpail and my nephew in town to visit
15. It's kind of a PITA if you're not post-2-weeks vaxxed (I'll be 5 days short). So gotta take me and the Lunchpail over to CVS tomorrow afternoon for $29.95 rapid tests (hopefully insurance-covered) then get out there. Expecting a small-crowd of course but still clusterfucking at the gate
16. I read this too. I thought the bit about the radio show and the interview with piazza was by far the best bit. There was some insight into the Wilpons, and some promising stuff on Payson. The second half was like reading twitter, exhausting if I'm honest. DeGOAT on one reference is enough, this guy used it about 100 times. I'll give it a double, coulda been a homer In the final analysis I'm not sure who this book is directed to.
17. Tuesday Night Mets Club reunion! Come see us in section 333
