1. Grounds-rule double, seems pretty sketchy to me
2. How do ya score this Keirmaier hit?
3. Mexican scientist studies 🦋 in NYC; has estranged brother at home. Hijinks flutter. Now playing at your local art house, coming to HBO shortly.
4. Remember it was okay. Only okay
5. Yeah I've pretty much always hated the Brewers and I never thought the ball-in-glove logo was anything more than clever; it's not really good-looking. The Brewers since coming to the NL have played a role in fouling up several late-seasons for us, most notably in 07 or 08 when they couldn't TCB at home vs. Philly while we we struggled down the line. Richie Sexton was always hitting HRs against us. Braun is a dick whose tee-shirt line was gross and ruined a FedEx guy's career rather than takex responsibility for his own shit. Contrast his career with Wright's and it'll make you vomit. Selig was a pud who was something of a role model and enabler for the Wilpons. Just like Fred he was a self-made businessman (cars instead of real estate) whose sensibilities were so wrapped up in his 1950s youth he went and built a baseball biz out of it (Braves, Dodgers). Each of them stole a team (Selig the Pilots from Seattle, Fred the Mets from Doubleday), each of them displayed ethical shortcomings (conflicts of interest as owner-commish; Bernie Madoff profiteer). Selig was the first in modern bb to plaster outfield walls with sponsor logos, Fred saw that and sold every square inch of the stadium. Both of their parks are located in giant parking lots. I hate the Brewers. I like the Giants.
6. I mean, it was clear to me the most important thing to the Mets in the midst of the Pirates run was whether Alonso could win a meaningless skills competition on an off-day. They never appeared to have their priorities or enough urgency day to day. You cannot risk burning too hot over a season but this team was remarkably lukewarm.
7. Yeah that was cool. Boston got nothing tonight
8. That's gonna be a barnburing, fanbeating mess. There literally is a few parking lot murders every time these teams play.
9. I turned this one off and went to bed with 1 on in the 9th. Chris Taylor homered just then and Dodgers walk off
10. Beane can make finding the next Beane a part of his job for the Mets. He did alright with some assistants already.
11. Drew Gagnon got Robles number, so... Drew Gahnon
12. I like Lynchie and think he oughta have a role on Billy Beane's staff. I'm so hot for Beane right now I can barely stand it. It just makes too much sense
13. Maybe Plawecki
14. Wild Card MVP: Hansel Robles
15. =bmfc1 post_id=79276 time=1633439803 user_id=73] Bob Melvin and the Blue and Orange Notes
16. Lindor didn't get along with McNeil and the camaraderie of of the 2020 team was upset by that new dynamic.. Lindor got injured. A lack of front office brain power caught up with them at the trade deadline and teams like the phillies and the braves helped themselves considerably more than the mets did. The courage or foolishness it may have taken to acquire a Duvall or Kyle Gibson didn't materialize and instead it became an attempt to mollify a brooding Lindor.
17. WS: Giants over Rays in 7 NLCS: Giants over Braves in 6 NLDS: Giants over Dodgers in 5, Braves over Brewers, in 5 NLWC: Dodgers over Cardinals ALCS: Rays over White Sox in 6 ALDS: Rays over Red Sox in 4, White Sox over Astros in 5 ALWC: Red Sox over MFYs
18. I just wanted to share Yennsy's farewell message and say he did more, and/or better than all of us had expected this year which wasn't much. I know this holds true with most relievers but take away his worst couple of outings and he was pretty much a reliever for all kinds of weather and not just the disproportionate percentage of defeats he appeared in. Anyway I'd invite him back
19. He lives, but as a high-level coordinator
20. MFY-TBR game scoreless in the 7th, but Choi leads off with a dubble
21. Trea Turner just hit a grand slam
