Mets have scored 4 runs on some timely hitting and shoddy play by the Fish. They already have 2 errors that cost them 2 runs. Mets up, 4-0. Trachsel with a nice lil cusion as he takes the mound. Castro and Franco kind of look out of place with those professional, Met Yearbook photos Ah well...
  2. Mets Offense, Assemble, Unite and Activate!
  3. Nice Pinch Hit job. One fast and fun fact about the Fish is the number of former or future All Star backstops they've had over the years. Benito Santiago Charles Johnson Darren Daulton Mike Piazza Ivan Rodriguez Paul Lo Duca
  4. I know Edgy, I was going for the funny. And I'm just realizing the rather tasteless nature of the thing I said I was ducking (hangs head in own stupidity)

  6. Listening to this one nowUp to 1940, much more info on the young Ted obviously than the young George RuthSo far a good listen
  7. Anniversary of Thurman Munson's passing OE: Removed rather tasteless and unfunny joke I made
  8. BTW, where did the Rico as a good fit come out of? Was he rumored to be hired by the Mets org at some point?
  9. I'm starting to notice a correlation between opening game losses and lack of a KTE thread. 86-Dreamer, you are on notice! =
  10. Pretty decent flick, made as a valentine to Kevin Smith's fanbase I'd say more than anything. Clearly production values were increased, I mean from a film made by a fresh out of film college student, financed by credit cards and shot mostly at night to a major Hollywood film I'd HOPE the production values went up Like the first one, the story line was focused mainly on "A Day In The Life" though a prologue and epilouge do stretch several months prior and after, and centered around the love life of Dante Hicks and how that affected his friendship with Randal Graves. Pretty decent lines, the usual Smith flare of completely raunch-ing up the film and a number of cool callbacks to the original. Jay & Bob of course are back, but mostly background players, but more so than they were in the original. Sadly no Bezerker...and no Snowball (The Clerks Scott Moiser version, Ethan Suplee was in it but not as the Mallrats Snowball) Other than Dante, Randal, Jay and Bob, no other ViewAskewniverse characters were seen, and only one other was mentioned by name. Jason Lee and Ben Affleck both show up though as well as some of the usual Smith friends and family In all a good sequel. It did not reek of "Oh, WHY did this movie HAVE to be made?" the way most do. By the way, did Joel Siegel miss Bachelor Party? Because thats what the beastilty was referenecing. Then again, what was Siegel expecting after seeing what transpired in the first Clerks? Anyway, suffice to say, there wasn't anything that you needed to call AAPCTA or PETA, or any watchdog groups
  11. Vamos Carlos, Seinor Beltran en fuego
  12. EHEM! "Don't go changing to try and please... (gets janked off the stage with cane) Where did the lineups come from, don't see them posted yet in several places
  13. Going Sunday night, hopefully some pics to add to that Offense jpeg file I had going. Have to remove Nady from that piece...Ah well...
  14. Right now Philly is your 2nd place team playing St Louie this week while we do some fileting of the 3rd (by a half a game) Fish Chances are good that the Phils will still be in second come the weekend series at Shea while the Fish will be hosting the Dodgers.

  18. Okay, no Santana or...uh Harrel...no, uh Taveras! Yeah, no Frank Taveras on this squad either!
  19. Elster88 wrote: ="Edgy DC"]OE: There's also no Ordonez hole in the lineup in 2006. I had thought second base would fill be the '06 version of Ordonez's bat, unless Kaz performed. But Valentin = fact. Yup. Not even a Santana or Elster on this years squad!
  20. metirish wrote: The Red Wings sign Dominik Hasek....sorry wrong sort... ] A source close to Clemens said today that Clemens would not ask to be traded even though his frustration level is through the roof following another rough day for the Astros, who blew a 5-1 lead and lost to the Diamondbacks 7-6 yesterday I feel sorry for him......wanker Hope the return was worth it!
  21. ="Rotblatt"]="Edgy DC"]We have a killer bullpen. We don't need to make a project of straightening out a guy in the midst of a rough season in order to accomplish that. Yeah, I agree, but Billy ain't getting any younger, and having Lidge (circa 2005) sitting in the wings for the next few years would be pretty sweet. It all depends on who we'd have to give up for him, though. I'm not convinced Lidge isn't over the Pujols homer from last October. At least Benitez tended to let his postseason failure not effect him in April, Lidge seems to still have Pujols in his head
