  1. Man I WISH I was watching tonights game right now... Nothing like a classic pitchers duel. Should have Tivoed the game... Microec is a better class though

What a season this guy's having. Fairfield U Class 1999 working on some biz courses gearing towards an MBA at some point. Live close to Iona so I'm going there shortly. Masters in Journalism, then MBA afterwards.
  3. Getting alot of material for "Things I didn't say today" right now... GO PEDRO!
  4. cooby wrote: Boy, these things really suffer without Steve In midst of an Excel class mid-term review. Microeconomics coming up in an hour! Accreditation College stinks... IONA HERE I COME in 2007!
  5. duan wrote: Also (and I'm open to correction here) I think IF a guy is on the 15 day dl on 1st September and you move him to the 60 day dl you can replace him with someone who wasn't on the 25 man roster on the playoff roster. So, you could have Mike Pelfrey/Philip Humber as your Game 3 starter even if they're down in the minors on Aug 31st. Right, thats how Francisco Rodriguez got on the 2002 Angels, and K-Rod was born
  6. Is there a reason Sanchez wasn't put on the 60 day DL? Is there a limit on the DL placements?
  7. Edgy DC wrote: I want Piazza back. I want Kazmir back.
  8. Nice, I was hoping you'd give a double doseage of a Fantasticly Foursome though =
  9. No kidding, lets see Gooden in jail Darling check Ojeda pissed at the organization (is he still currently pissed?) Augilera ??? Fernandez Probably will be there since he's going to be in White Plains for a card show that weekend Orosco ??? McDowell in Atlanta Sisk Do we WANT Sisk there? Niemann Is he still in the organization? Carter in St. Luice Hearn ??? Lyons Probably will be there since he's going to be in White Plains for a card show that weekend, why I don't know because he was riding the Tidewater express for most of the year Gibbons Managing in Toronto Hernandez check Backman Probably will be there since he's going to be in White Plains for a card show that weekend Santana ??? Knight Prior comittment? Why? Elster ??? (not the CPF's Elster) Johnson In the organization so I'm sure he'll be there Teufel ??? Mazzilli Yankees Strawberry As noted will not be there Dysktra ??? Wilson In Brooklyn so probably Mitchell ??? Heep ??? Davey and Mel no and no Buddy ??? Most likely though but anyone know what the Ducks schedule is? Vern Hoschiet ??? 11. Oh and the Phillies are laying the wood on the Cards pen. Kind of has me worried about the weekend! Whats that about payback, even from 13 games behind...
  12. Gwreck wrote: The game is on ESPN. Ball was hit back to the pitcher, he checked the runner at third but then threw late to first. Credited with a hit, as of now. Yeah, how was THAT an FC? What is the OS in St Louie a DiMaggio fan (or a Rose fan for the NL record)
  13. ="Zvon"]UTLEY BEATS OUT AN INFIELD SINGLE!!!! It was an easy chopper to the pitcher between the mound and third---the pitcher takes a second to check Victorino at third, and he beats it out. AND THE SCORING HAS BEEN CHANGED! CHANGED TO A FIELDERS CHOICE! That was a hit---I really thin that was a hit---no bobble, Utley beat it. PiazzaFan31 isn't here for this but he'd (or she) would appreciate my Jim Ross, WWE announcer imitation: NOT THIS WAY DAMN IT! NOT THIS WAY!
  14. 8th against Randy Flores in for Looper. OOOOOOOOOOHHHH a Fielders Choice! Its 11-7 now and only one out Doesn't say what happened, but it seemed like ball went back to the mound and Flores went somewhere other than first as no out was recorded!
  15. Edgy DC wrote: ="SteveJRogers"]I was referring to the Captain in that incruseatingly long "I'm your Captain, I'm your Captain..." song. Is that a word? Uh, whatever word means painfully long, thats the word I was going for...
  16. Wed 8/2 Phillies lead 8-7 Old friend Braden Looper is in for the Top of the 8th and a runner is on with no outs. MFY win 7-2 and Boston loses 5-6 Utley is 0-4 but should get another crack at it in the game
  17. Of course it was by Grand Funk Railroad...
  18. Zvon wrote: ="SteveJRogers"] Maybe they need a Captain... S.I. kinda appointed LoDuca as team Captain. Captain Red Ass. But I guess that really doesnt count unless your team mates do it. Valentin --no brew for you-- gets picked off 1st after drawing a walk. Dag. I was referring to the Captain in that incruseatingly long "I'm your Captain, I'm your Captain..." song The one that rambles "I'm getting closer to my home" for about 20 minutes
  19. Zvon wrote: Chad--Ya let me down. No brew for you. 6-5 Mets, and what I thought was gonna be a easy win proves to me that Jethro Tull was right..... Nothin's easy. Maybe they need a Captain...
  20. Did Hernandez get his chance to catch yet? For some reason I thought I heard he did
  21. Gwreck wrote: With Roberto Hernandez in the game, he becomes the first two-separate-stints-with-the-Mets player since...Roger Cedeno? For some reason I think Fortunado went somewhere in between stints
  22. Welcome back Bert, now get one out!
  23. Willets Point wrote: ="Frayed Knot"] Funny, I would have thought would have to go to Bell first before you get a Ring ... but I guess not this time. With their complimentary names it would be fun to have them in the pen together. Yeah, if next year they wanted to give Sanchez and Wagner the day off, the 8th and 9th would be "Ring The Bell!" Or thats what Tim "Out by a HARE!" McCarver would probably say Why do I recall Shawn Hare is beyond me. There was also "Herr, is Here!" when Tom Herr made his Met debut. Before he was annoying fans on a national level, Tim McCarver: The Annoying Punster of WOR Telecasts!
  24. Cool as the other side of the pillow Sorry, Stuart Scott-ism there....
