  1. Now would be a good time for a DP!
  2. I wonder what the number of MLB newbies made their debuts as Mets is? Something to quickly look up some other time.
  3. And here comes Joe Smith, MLB Debut as well
  4. Hmmm, no Aaron

  6. I'm calling Joe Smith as #801 in the 7th I'm wrong, well not for tonight is concerned with Smith being Met #801. Feliciano is coming in
  7. See Aaron! THATS HOW YOU DO IT!
  8. GET THIS FAT ASS OUT!
  9. Again the Mets get a DP after a lead-off guy gets on! NICE!
  10. ="OlerudOwned"]="SteveJRogers"]="metsguyinmichigan"]Morgan: "The pitching is in disarray."No, last year when Jose Lima was in the rotation, that was disarray. This is just fine. To be fair, many media wankers would have taken the pre season 2006 Traschel and Zambrano over the 2007 pre season Maine and Perez. Hey, hey, Trachsel had like 15 wins last season. He has to be good. No, no he wasn't.
  11. Pedro missed another photo day!

  13. Jose, that is NOT Uniting, that is NOT Assembling! Geez.
  14. Thats Uniting, THATS Assembling! Tommy Boy!
  15. Soild inning from Glavine. Okay, Mets Offense UNITE AND ASSEMBLE
  16. HE IS UP!, Yadir F'N Molina! AKA Fat Ass.
  17. Good to see John Cleese back, but I think Valentin's mother was a hampster who wears combat boots
  18. Allright Shawn! 2 out hits.
  19. Met # 800 with his hit # 1 as a Met
  20. Not sure what happened to the idea after my polls were pretty much dismissed. My guess is we are now not doing it for 2007 as no KTE has shown up.
  21. Alright, lets get this party started WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our season is here apparantly! Looks like the Wright batting 2nd experiment is on hold, for now as LoDuca is your 2nd hitter according to MetsBlog.com I wouldn't be surprised if it comes up if Davey is still in his post-Home Run Derby funk by late April, early May.
  22. Okay, so this is several months too early, but since I put up the Glavine countdown, might as well do the Pedro countdown, especially considering it's 2 away and he is the first guy on the outside looking in by virtue of amassing the 15th highest total of K's in baseball history, the top 14 are your 3,000 K Club Nolan Ryan 5,714 Roger Clemens 4,604 Randy Johnson 4,544 Steve Carlton 4,136 Bert Blyleven 3,701 Should he be in the Hall? Well besides the active hurlers, he's the only one of this club who isn't. Tom Seaver 3,640 Don Sutton 3,574 Or is that Conway Twitty? Gaylord Perry 3,534 Walter Johnson 3,508 For so long that was the standard, now it's good for 9th, and all within the last 25 years! Phil Niekro 3,342 Ferguson Jenkins 3,192 Greg Maddux 3,169 The ninth member of both of the 300 Wins and 3,000 K Clubs. Look for Randy Johnson (280 wins) to make it 10 either this year (hey why not, back in the NL and in a comfortable place) or early 2008 Bob Gibson 3,117 Curt Schilling 3,115
  23. 10 wins shy means this thread will be slipping off to the third, fourth and fifith page by the time Glavine passes 19th Century hurler Bobby Matthews and makes himself the 23rd winningest pitcher in the game's history. The top 22, that would be your 300 Win Club: Cy Young 511 Unbreakable record right there. The Original Big Train, Walter Johnson 417 Pete Alexander 373 The first New York City mega sports star, Christy Mathewson 373 The winningest lefty, Warren Spahn 363 Kid Nichols 361 Pud Galvin 360 Technically the active leader, Roger Clemens 348 Tim Keefe 342 Glavine's golf buddy Greg Maddux 333 Steve Carlton 329 John Clarkson 328 Eddie Plank 326 Nolan Ryan 324 Don Sutton 324 "Knucksie" Phil Niekro 318 Gaylord Perry 314, shown wearing his uni that he breaks out for Old Timers Games The Franchise, Tom Seaver 311 "Old Hoss" Charles Radbourne 309 Mickey Welch 307 Pair of Gatekeepers at the Milestone Marker Lefty Grove 300 and Early Wynn All except for Maddux and Clemens are in the Hall of Fame, and unless the voters decide to go the McGwire route when Clemens is up for inshrinment, those two will join the other 20 in Cooperstown.
  24. MFS62 wrote: The question was "Who will be the 800th player to wear a Mets Uniform?". Of the players acquired by the Mets since the end of last season, two who will probably be on the 25 man roster coming North are Moises Alou and Damion Easley. It looks like Alou will be in the starting lineup, and Easley won't. But Easley was signed 10 days earlier than Moises (Nov 17 vs Nov 27 of 2006).So, which is the correct answer? Later The only way a listing of Easley before Alou would be used in some sort of uber-tenuered listing of the Met roster; Rather than the player's debut with team, but a "How The Mets Were Built" sort of listing. Other than that, if Alou appears in a game before Easley, Moises Alou will be numbered before Damon Easley. Even in listings of newcomers for 2007 which are usually in alphabetical order! I guess the only other time is based on the fact that infielders are generally listed before outfielders whenever roster sheets are provided!
