  1. I also voted for practicality. When we're chasing the Braves, of course it makes sense to root for them to lose. Right now, and especially this week, practicality dictates that as long as we're winning, who cares what the Braves do? They're in third place after all...
  2. Rick Down Guy Conti Mike DeJean also DeJean (not as good)
  3. Jorge Velandia Juan Padilla also Juan Padilla:
  4. ="cooby"]Just curious as to why you guys think this is Lima's only shot. It's not like Bannister is all better and Zambrano is gone I'm fairly certain that Bannister is better. If nothing else, he's much more deserving of the spot than Jose Lima. I know he has ML-experience. I know he won 20 games once, but Lima has a well-documented history of ineptitude and disaster. Why bother when we can try rookies who won't be any worse, and will get some experience to boot?
  5. I don't think we're going to have the best bullpen ERA anymore after that craptacular performance from Bartolome.
  6. Zambrano out for the year with a torn flexor tendon.
  7. Zambrano was DLed to make room for Lima on the 25. Not sure what the move was to get Lima on the 40. OE: Probably was a 60-man DL move. Zambrano reportedly out for the year.

Yeah, but when you consider what was done to win the game -- Floyd, Wright, and the bullpen, we can't give Jose the 3-4 points he would deserve in a different game. I will say that I am very surprised to see Floyd left off a ballot. The LOB notwithstanding, his HR was the single-most important moment towards us winning the game.
  12. First win last night, first save this afternoon.

  14. Willie should double-switch again and put Woodward in at 2nd.

  16. 55 pitches for Oliver and he's scheduled to lead off. I think he hits, they get at least 1 more inning out of him.

  18. There's also Jeremi Gonzalez, at Norfolk. Bannister is apparently beginning long-tossing, so hopefully he'll be back soon.
  19. Willie went out 6 pitches into the misspelledAndrew at-bat -- looked like he had bothered something -- thought it was neck, but could've been arm

We did save Oliver. Feliciano only threw 5 pitches, too. Oliver's probably good for 3 innings if necessary.
  22. "Jorge Julio, looking a lot better than Anna Benson tonight." -Steve Somers, 5/5/06
  23. Should also be noted that with the win, Mets now have best record in baseball again (tied with ChiSox).
  24. After Woodward, I bet Wright would do the best job at catcher, I just don't ever want him playing there. Zambrano had probably gone home by the time he would've been needed, so Glavine in the OF would've been the solution. Definetly no Pedro in the field.
