  1. That's 25 players. You got them all, Yancy.
  2. I'll try to make it as well.
  3. Johnny Dickshot wrote: It would matters in this case since Milledge was recalled following the Sept. 1 cutoff date, or something, meaning he could only replace a disabled player. Right, but not in the case of Floyd being left off the roster, put on the "15 day DL" and being unable to play until WS game 2. That wouldn't matter, because there wouldn't be a 15-day requirement, etc.
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, the 15-day disabled list is irrelevant for the posteason, no? As in, it doesn't matter if we leave Floyd off the roster, he'd just be left off, not disabled.
  5. Guess we can hold off on the deathwatch for the time being. Cliff Floyd is on the NLCS roster. So is Anderson Hernandez, filling the "pinch-runner for Cliff Floyd" slot.
  6. ...on the way to the game, or any other appropriate use this week: Meet the Mets (Original Version) Meet the Mets ('80s Version) Meet the Mets (Instrumental) Let's Go Mets! Who Let the Mets Out? Our Team, Our Time Lucas Prata - And We Say...Let's Go Mets!
  7. I suspect they may take off the tarps for the WS. It's not like those seats haven't been used for baseball before.
  8. It's not so much the total precipitation but the frequency thereof that'll determine a rainout. A quarter inch would mean either drizzle for a while or a short heavier burst -- either way allowing the game to happen.
  9. I'll be there. Mezz 12, Row A. Blue hat, keeping score -- if you want to say hi. It's likely to rain but perhaps only towards the end of the game. They'll get it in I think.
  10. Thanks. Then it was Franco. Retrosheet had 24 players with stats in the NLDS, and 2 who had stats in the NLCS/WS but not NLDS --Bubba and Matt F.
  11. Strange Question... Who replaced Derek Bell on the 2000 posteason roster in the NLCS? Was it Matt Franco -- or Bubba Trammell?
  12. Thanks ABNS. I once again know our Cardinal enemy well.
  13. MFS62 wrote: I sent an email to an A's fan friend and he told me that they rope off the upper deck for baseball games and don't sell tickets to those seats. Indeed. They have green tarps over the seats. One wonders if in the World Series those seats won't be opened up, similar to what happened in Flordia in '97 and '03.
  14. I'm not Yancy, but I was under the impression that the "original teams" consisted of the 8 teams in each league in 1903, the start of World Series play. FWIW, the stats he quotes are based on clubs that have not moved cities since 1903. Otherwise the most recent prior to 2004 would've been 1999. 16. Ehhh...those interleague games had 10 starters...
  17. Jeremy Bonderman tipped off about Yankees. So who was the pitcher who called and offered tips on the Yankees? My guess is Curt Schilling.
  18. Chris Cotter: "Jose, I thought this was going to be a little more reserved than last time, it's just as crazy, what's going on?" Jose Reyes: "You know, had to be crazy, because we win, you know, when you win, you celebreate, so that's what we do right now!"
  19. That doesn't belong in this thread.
  20. Crap, I missed this in the Tigers/Yankees series thread. I suppose it could go in the AP MFY thread too. Too many decisions.
  21. ESPN is reporting that Torre will be fired (unless he resigns) and likely replaced with Lou Pinella. Seriously.
  22. metsmarathon wrote: and yeah, i'll happily take arod off the yankee's payroll, if they're willing to pay a sizeable portion of his remaining contract for us. Does he play second base or left field?
  23. Carpenter is starting tomorrow for St. Louis. If St. Louis wins, that will mean 1. No Carpenter in Game 1 2. Maximum 2 Carpenter starts over a 7-game LCS.
