  1. ....by the Giants, thankfully. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/01/giants-resign-bengie-molina-to-oneyear-deal.html
  2. Didn't even bother reading. Should know (or care) who Pat Flood is?
  3. I had little problem with Marty's explanation re: Alomar (that he held off a first ballot vote because he felt Alomar's actions were a disgrace to the game) but he comes off a little too defensive at times "And those who have their noses pressed against their computer screens and think VORP is a valid means of measuring a player's performance ought to get a life and a credential that would allow them to see and hear the game up close."
  4. The point of putting the team store on the ground level was so it could be open year round (ie. access from outside the stadium). It's not clear to me whether that plan has been abandoned or not.
  5. Strikeouts: Adam Dunn
  6. Innings: Mark Buehrle.
  7. I'll start by guessing David Weathers for relief appearances. (I'll also add that I think this would be a lot more fun if people were limited to one guess at a time instead of filling out the whole big form at once).
  8. Brad Ziegler of the Athletics. Had something like 40 consecutive scoreless innings a year or two ago.
  9. He also had a reputation as a superior fielder. Of the 6 there, only Bonds had a similar reputation.
  10. Ah, forgot another one. Re-signing Mota - big lose.
  11. Also: Letting Darren Oliver walk - lose. For what it's worth, we got 376 PAs out of Cliff Floyd in 2006 at a .731 OPS and 328 PAs out of Moises Alou at a .916 OPS in 2007.
  12. I strongly preferred Holliday but he just got the same deal the Mets gave Beltran before the 2005 season.
  13. Some more food for thought: New York 1. Reyes .772* 2. Castillo .732 3. Wright .837 4. Beltran .915 5. Bay .921 6. Francoeur .732 7. Murphy .741 8. Blanco .703Atlanta 1. McLouth .788 2. Cabrera .752 3. Jones .818 4. McCann .834 5. LaRoche .844 6. Diaz .878 7. Escobar .812 8. Prado .822Philadelphia 1. Victorino .803 2. Rollins .719 3. Utley .905 4. Howard .931 5. Werth .879 6. Ibanez .899 7. Polanco .727 8. Ruiz .780Florida 1. Coghlan .850 2. Baker .759 3. Ramirez .954 4. Cantu .788 5. Uggla .813 6. Ross .790 7. Maybin .734 8. Bonifacio .611Washington 1. Guzman .696 2. Morgan .757 3. Zimmerman .888 4. Dunn .928 5. Willingham .863 6. Dukes .729 7. Rodriguez .663 8. Gonzalez .650 *2008
  14. I voted: Alomar, McGwire, Blyleven, Martinez. I don't see DH as the "absence" of a position as mentioned earlier; it's more accurately described as "half" of a position (the corresponding other half being the pitcher).
  15. Did you notice that on the list you produced, Dawson's OBP is only better than the bottom three?
  16. Raul Casanova Did we trade Mauro Gozzo to KC in the David Cone deal? And then have him back in the mid-90s?
  17. We have an option on Reyes for 2011 but I guess we could get rid of him after this year if we wanted.
  18. I would rather spend the $$ on a pitcher and save the $$ next year for future first baseman Joe Mauer.
  19. Bo-ring. Wanted good news, ie. Jerry fired; Omar fired; Dave Howard eaten by shark, etc...
